Neat story. Thanks for challenging the fandom notions of BDSM.
I do have one criticism, though. In this story, the characters constantly talk about the "right" way to do things. Obviously some things are inherently right and wrong, like almost strangling your sub or manipulating your Dom/sub, but I would disagree that collars must come off at the end of a scene, or that partners must keep BDSM in the bedroom or dungeon only and cannot have a healthy 24/7 relationship, or that punishments should only be given when necessary. I think that's all up to negotiation, and to say otherwise can lead curious newbies to think that they must adhere to the "right" way to do things.
And one thing in response to the final author's note: I don't know if you're aware of this, but many people identify as SAMs and do not actually top from the bottom. The Dom is fully aware, consents to the dynamic, and enjoys it. It's not manipulation; it's "funishment." Real punishment for these SAMs is usually something along the lines of withholding funishment or corner time.
