I liked the story. You did a good job of keeping the suspense of who died right to the end. It is unfortuneate that you chose to punctuate the story with really bad poetry. I realize that it is probably some song lyric, but not everyone listens to the same music and what might sound great in a song just falls flat as a poetic interlude.

It's beautiful. So heartbreakingly beautiful.
It broke my heart completely seeing one of them left behind like that. My heart was literally clenching upon reading each word. And of course I bursted into tears at last.
