I should have told him, I'm not completely sure if he knew how much I cared for him. Though now I shall never know. The lone golden haired elf though as he stood in front of a stone grave monument. The tomb stone was that of his friend, partner, and above all elves his lover. Tears began to fall from the elves sapphire eyes, as memories came flooding back to him, just then a cool breeze blew around Legolas. He inhaled sharply at the sharp change of temperature. His eyes snapped open as he caught a familiar sent in the air, No it couldn't be He looked around the area then looked at the tomb stone once more, and reread the writing, "Here lies a beloved husband, father, friend, and a respected king. Aragorn son of Arathorn, King of Gondor." The elf closed his eyes as if it would erase the fact that he was gone. A warm breath of wind blew only by his ear, he looked around to see if there was anyone around, but he was alone.

Legolas closed his eyes once more remembering Aragorn, his voice as they would lie together talking quietly in bed. {"I do love you, you know that right?" Aragorn asked as he held the elf prince close to his bear chest. "I know, and I love you as well Aragorn." Legolas said turning to look at the man, "You will forever be my only love." the elf finished as he sat up. His hands went up to Aragorn's face, and pulled him in for a kiss. Legolas poured himself into the kiss as if to prove how sincere he was. Aragorn wrapped his arms around the lean form of his lover, and returned all the emotion in the kiss.}

He still could feel Aragorn's lips on his own from that night so long ago. He squeezed his eyes shut tighter trying to contain his tears. But it was futile the crystal tears rolled down his ivory skin of his high cheek bones. Feeling to week to stand he collapsed to his knees in the moist grass. He turned his head up to the heavens. Why? Why did you have to leave me? Why wouldn't you let me? He screamed in his mind, as more tears fell remembering back. {"Why, why won't you accept it?" Legolas demanded in an angry voice. "Because I refuse to be the reason for causing the death of two elves." Aragorn said calmly trying not to anger the elf further, "And I couldn't be able to watch you age, get sick, and die" "So instead you rather have me watch you die?" Legolas asked turning to Aragorn with sad eyes. "No of course not, but... can we just not talk about it now?" Aragorn pleaded. Legolas nodded his head, "fine, but if you die then there will be no reason for me to live. For I could never live with out you." Aragorn couldn't say anything to that, all he did was go up to the elf, and pulled him into a strong hug. The man whispered to the elf, "can we please just not bring it up anymore?" "Yes, but just remember for as long as I live you will always live in my heart." Legolas said holding tighter to Aragorn.}

Legolas inhaled sharply as a sharp pain hit him in his chest, he feel forward on hand supporting his lithe body. His other hand clutching at his chest. Tears fell from his eyes at the memories of Aragorn, and the pain in his body. His breaths became swallowed, and strained, but he still only thought of Aragorn. The way he smile, how he made bad jokes, but mostly of all how much he loved him.

His head began to feel as if it were spinning. The once graceful elf doubled over on the ground from the pain he was feeling. He knew what was happening to him, but he wasn't as fearful as he thought he would have been. For he knew he would be joining his love soon. Legolas' face began to pale dramatically, breathing coming in short gasps. Then he stopped breathing, but the last thing he heard was Aragorn's voice, "Legolas, I'm deeply sorry for the pain I've caused you, but now it's over. Now please come to me my love." With hearing that Legolas Prince of Mirkwood died, and joined his beloved to never be separated again.
