Hiya, this is my first slash story, but these boys are just too cute to leave alone! Thanks to Silver Wolf for encouraging me to write this and to DragonEyeZ for helping me polish the rough spots! Title: Thawing the Ice Author: Elfwench Email: elfwench2002@yahoo.com Pairing: Erestor/Glorfindel Rating: R Summary: Glorfindel and Erestor always bicker with each other, but is there something between them that even they don't know about? Chapter 1--Nothing but A Bother Erestor knew someone was watching him as he worked and he had a good idea who. Only two Elves would enter the library unannounced while he was working. Lord Elrond was in his study so that left only one other possibility. "What do you want, Glorfindel? I am busy," he asked sharply. He didn't bother to look up. "You are not pleased to see me, dear councilor? I am wounded," Glorfindel said. He walked in and sat down in a chair in front of the desk. "You will be if you do not leave me be. I have neither the time nor inclination to play your games," Erestor retorted, dipping his quill in the inkwell and continuing to write. Glorfindel peered at the parchment. "What are you so intent on? Writing a love letter?" he asked. Erestor put the quill in the inkwell and scowled at him. "I *was* writing a report on the household expenses until *someone* began disturbing me," he said sharply. "How dare they," Glorfindel said. He pretended to look for an intruder. "Point the nuisance out and I will remove him or her for you," he said. Deciding the ink was dry; Erestor rolled up the parchment and stood. "Now if you do not mind *some* of us have work to do and Lord Elrond is waiting for this report," he said. Glorfindel just laughed and swept an arm towards the door with mock gallantry. "After you, my sharp tongued advisor," he said. Erestor sniffed disdainfully and walked past the blond haired Elf. He headed for Elrond's study without looking back. Glorfindel allowed himself to enjoy the view of Erestor's well-formed backside as the advisor stormed away. He watched until Erestor entered Elrond's study then headed off to tend his own duties. Elrond looked up when Erestor entered the room. "Good, you are here. I trust that means you have finished the report," he said. "As you asked, my Lord," Erestor said. He handed Elrond the parchment and waited while he read it. "Very good, all seems in order. My thanks, Erestor. You may return to your other tasks," Elrond said when he finished. Erestor bowed slightly in respect and left, closing the study door softly behind him. He returned to the library and went to work on the next report. Glorfindel returned from his patrol at midnight and noticed a light in the library. He is still working, he always does this then he is crosser then ever the next day, he thought. He decided not to miss the chance to tease the black haired advisor again and entered the library. Erestor was bent over a thick book - he didn't even acknowledge Glorfindel's presence. The balrog-slayer hated being ignored, so he sat down on the desk. Erestor looked up and scowled. "What do you want?" he snapped, "and kindly remove yourself from my desk." "I am bored. Care to entertain me?" Glorfindel asked. "You want me to entertain you?" Erestor asked; giving Glorfindel a dull look that clearly showed that he believed the other Elf was out of his mind. "Of course, I am more interesting then some book," Glorfindel said. He leaned closer, putting one hand on the book to support his own weight as he shifted his balance - and to distract Erestor. The advisor merely slammed the book shut on Glorfindel's hand. "Oww, bloody hell, Erestor!" Glorfindel yelled, leaping off the table and doing something akin to a small dance while clutching the wounded limb. "That hurt!" "I am sure that it did, however I would wager that you are no longer bored," Erestor said, only glancing up while talking, and then opened the book again on the relevant page and continued reading as if nothing had happened. "Nay, instead I have a sore hand and it is my sword hand! What am I supposed to do about my sparring lessons tomorrow?" Glorfindel demanded. "Pray to the Valar it stops hurting by that time. You also might wish to think of a reason it hurts, unless you would prefer to tell the truth," Erestor said casually. Glorfindel glared at the smug advisor and stormed out of the room and slammed the door loudly behind him. He stalked up the hall, planning suitable revenge. *********************** Elrond looked up and smiled in greeting as Glorfindel entered the dining hall the next morning then he noticed the balrog slayer's swollen hand. "Glorfindel, what happened?" the Half-Elf asked. "Sit down and let me have a look at it." "Erestor was in a foul mood last evening," Glorfindel explained, but he sat down as bidden. Elrond studied his senchenel's hand. "It is only a bad sprain and should heal by tomorrow, but you should not use it today. You are excused from sparring ," he said. Erestor arose and dressed for the day. There was much that needed to be done. There was to be a formal dinner in a week and it was his duty to prepare for it. After combing out his hair he went to the door and opened it. Down the hallway, two servants could hear the advisor's angry voice, shouting the name of the balrog slayer. A few moments later, Erector stepped into the dining hall, soaking wet and leaving small puddles of water behind. Glorfindel smiled wickedly as everyone in the dining hall stared. "Why Erestor, what is all the fuss about?" he asked innocently. "Did you fall into the bathing pool with your clothes still on?" He was enjoying himself immensely. Elrond groaned and hid his face in his hands as Erestor started yelling angrily at Glorfindel. Not again, he thought. He decided that he had to put a stop to this scene before it got worse. "Enough, Erestor, go put on dry clothes. We will settle this later," he said. Erestor would not disobey Elrond, no matter how angry he was, so after a last glare at the amused Glorfindel he stormed out of the dining hall. Elrond sighed and glanced at the completely unrepentant Glorfindel. It was obviously going to be a very long day. A/N; So do you like it, hate it? I'd love feedback on this, please? Chapter 2--Revenge Is Sweet Erestor stormed down the hall back to his chambers with his temper at a boil, not noticing the servants who took one look at his face and quickly moved out of his path. He entered his chambers and yanked the door shut and locked it. Muttering curses at the seneschal, he stripped off his wet clothes and dried off. Pulling out a clean robe he put it on without really looking at it. Grabbing a towel and a brush, he went out on his balcony to sit in the sun to calm down while he tended to his hair. Elrond and Glorfindel moved to the study after breakfast and sat down. "Now, tell me what happened, Glorfindel and leave nothing out," Elrond said. Glorfindel sighed. "I truly only meant to tease him a bit. I went into the library and sat down on the desk…." He began. It didn't take long to tell the whole story. Elrond shook his head. "You should know better then to disturb Erestor when he is working. It makes him angry," he said. "He works to much just as you do, mellon-nin. It would do both of you good to have time to relax. Erestor is so cold. Do you know what some of the others call him? Ice heart is the nicest of the nicknames that I have heard," Glorfindel said. Elrond shook his head. "It is my responsibility, Glorfindel and I do not know what I would do without you and Erestor at my side, but that is not what we are discussing. Erestor has many secrets. I know of some of them that I promised him I would never reveal. He loves the children, but is not friendly to older Elves. Be careful about pushing him too far," he warned. Glorfindel nodded. "I will think of what you said," he said and left the study. Elrond smiled slightly. I find it interesting that besides the children only you can successfully make him react though it is usually anger. I will be watching both of you, he thought. Sighing, he reached for the first piece of paperwork. Erestor realized he had missed breakfast all together. He'd been out on the balcony for two hours and he was starved. He went inside and neatened his hair. He snatched up some papers that he needed then headed for the kitchen to look at the menu the head cook was supposed to prepare and give his approval. While he was there he could get a bite to eat. Glorfindel was returning from the garden when he saw Erestor coming towards him. Grinning, he stepped directly into the advisor's path. Erestor was still looking at the papers he held when he bumped into someone. He looked up, already forming an apology that was immediately forgotten when he saw who it was. "Must you always lurk around in the hall?" he hissed. "I never lurk. I had been out in the garden enjoying this fine day. It would do you good to get some sun yourself. You are pale as a corpse," Glorfindel said. Erestor's ink black eyes sparkled with annoyance. "Thank you for the lovely comparison, seneschal. Now if you do not mind I have more important tasks to tend to then talking to you," he said. He brushed by Glorfindel and continued towards the kitchen. Jessa, the head cook saw him enter and came to him. "How may I help you, Lord Advisor?" she asked. "I need to see the menu for the formal dinner that will be held at the end of the week," Erestor said. "Of course, I have it all finished," Jessa said. She went and got it. They sat down at a table in an out of the way corner and looked over the menu, making changes as needed then chose the wines that would be served. Two hours passed before they were done. Erestor took a plate of cheese and fruit back to the library. Later Erestor was at his desk doing the morning’s paperwork. A bottle caught his eyes as it was shoved to the edge of the desk. He grabbed it before it fell off and looked inside. Seeing it's contents, he smiled as an idea formed. Glorfindel walked into the library just ten minutes before lunch would be served to find the advisor hard at work, surrounded by parchments. He swaggered over and sat down on the desk again. Erestor raised his eyes and frowned. "I have asked you to stop plopping yourself down on my desk, seneschal," he said icily. "Why? Does it make you uncomfortable?" Glorfindel asked. "Nay, it does not, but you might find it uncomfortable," Erestor said. He stood. "I am going to lunch. Thanks to your little stunt I had little to eat this day." "Then I will come with you," Glorfindel said. He tried to stand up and found he couldn't. "What?" Erestor smiled almost predatorily at him and handed him a small jar then headed for the door. "Better hurry or you will be late to lunch," he said. He left and closed the door. Glorfindel looked at the bottle's contents and his eyes widened. "ERESTOR! I will get you for this!" he yelled. Glorfindel was soon seen, running quite fast down the hallway, and holding a book in front and behind him. However, the books did not hide the fact that he did not wear any leggings and the servant who went to clean the library found it quite amusing to see a pair of leggings glued to the edge of the desk. A/N--Whoo, was this a fun chapter to write! I about laughed myself into convulsions at the end…Feedback is appreciated! Chapter 3--Calling A Draw Glorfindel was very glad to reach his chambers and close the door. He laid the books on the desk and got out a new pair of leggings. He didn't want to be late for lunch so he'd figure out how to unglue the other pair later. I must admit that Erestor retaliated quite cleverly, but I never expected him to do such a thing, he thought. Lacing up the leggings, he hurried to the dining hall. He got there just after lunch had been served. He nodded to Elrond. "Sorry I'm late, I got caught with my pants down you might say," he said. "Well, that certainly is nothing unusual," Erestor remarked. Completely startled by that remark, Glorfindel stared at Erestor who calmly continued eating. "No harm done. Sit down," Elrond said. He was having a hard time keeping from laughing at the look on Glorfindel's face. Glorfindel took his place next to Erestor who ignored him. Smiling, Glorfindel leaned close to him. "Clever, I would say we have a draw for now," he said then straightened up and began filling his plate. "So where are the children?" he asked Elrond before Erestor could respond. "On a picnic with their sister and her nurse," Elrond said. "You know how much they hate to stay inside when the weather is good." "Ah, well then I do not have to worry about another food fight starting," Glorfindel said. "I seem to remember that you took part in the last one with unseemly enthusiasm," Erestor remarked disdainfully. "Lighthearted behavior never killed anyone, advisor, you should try it sometime," Glorfindel said. "I am not an Elfling and unlike some I refuse to act like one," Erestor said coolly. Glorfindel lowered his voice. "So you think it was mature to glue me to your desk?" He whispered. "It was no fault of mine," Erestor said. "What? Just how did you come to that conclusion?" Glorfindel asked. "You did it yourself, seneschal," Erestor said calmly. "Just how did I do that?" Glorfindel asked. "I have told you not to sit on my desk. If you had heeded me then you would have never gotten stuck," Erestor pointed out. Glorfindel stared at the advisor then leaned back in his chair and laughed heartily, getting several puzzled stares from the others at the table. Erestor flushed. "Stop that, you are causing a scene," he hissed, noticing the looks they were getting. Glorfindel just laughed all the harder, clutching at his sides. "One thing is for certain, advisor, your wit is sharp as your tongue," he said. Erestor snorted. "Would you stop, you are acting like an addled brained fool," he grumbled and stood. He left the dining hall and returned to the library. He still had so much to do. Seeing the leggings still glued to the desk he couldn't keep from smiling a bit. He began working on getting them loose. Eventually, with the help of a concoction made to break the glue's grip he succeeded. Ten minutes later Glorfindel entered to find Erestor hard at work as usual. "By the Valor, Erestor, do you never take a rest?" he asked. "I have duties to attend too, by the way I believe those are yours. Kindly remove them from my desk," Erestor said and pointed at the leggings. Glorfindel glanced at them and frowned. He walked forward and picked them up. Glancing around, he got an idea. Going to the tightly closed balcony doors, he shoved them open, allowing sunlight to fill the room. Unfortunately a breeze also entered and sent a good amount of the papers flying off Erestor's desk and to the floor. "You half-wit, now look at what you have done!" Erestor complained. He rose and began gathering the scattered papers. "Close that!" "Why? You are not a bat, Erestor. The sun would do you good," Glorfindel said. He stepped out onto the balcony. "It is a fine day. Come out and enjoy it." "Can you not find someone else to annoy?" Erestor grumbled. He put the papers back on the desk then moved to the doors. Glorfindel grinned at him. "See? The sun is bright and the sky clear," he said. Erestor slammed the doors shut with a loud bang and headed back to his desk. A breeze against his back told him Glorfindel had come in, but he didn't expect what happened next. A strong hand caught his arm and turned his to face Glorfindel who looked caught between angry and amused. "That was rude, Chief Advisor," he chided. "Kindly remove your hands from my person," Erestor said haughtily. Glorfindel smirked. "Is that a command, advisor?" he asked, staring into Erestor's eyes. Some of my men called you a dark beauty despite their other comments about how cold you are. Why did I never realize how right they were? He wondered to himself. Extremely uncomfortable under Glorfindel's intense gaze, Erestor pulled away from the blond with surprising strength and backed away. "Leave me be or I will never get anything done," he said and headed back for his desk. Glorfindel didn't stop him and he left the library. He was startled by his errant thoughts and wanted some time alone to sort through them. Chapter 4--Musings and Discoveries Glorfindel walked towards his chambers lost in thought. He couldn't understand why he suddenly had thoughts of how beautiful Erestor was. He'd never really thought of it before. He had always found the advisor to cold and to proper for his tastes. That was why he enjoyed trying to get a rise out of him with pranks and teasing. He came to his chambers and went inside, closing the door behind him. So what changed? For a moment when I grabbed his arm I had this ridiculous urge to kiss him, he thought. He laughed at the thought. It was indeed a ridiculous urge. If he had done it then he would have been picking his teeth from the floor for certain. That reminded him of something else. Erestor's arm was more muscular then it should have been, more suited to a warrior then a scholar and diplomat. Glorfindel shook his head. Erestor was no warrior. He had no weapons skills at all; indeed Glorfindel had never even seen the advisor pick up a weapon. There had to be some kind of explanation, there had to be. Glorfindel cursed and shook his head. He threw himself into a chair and allowed his thoughts to roam freely. Now that I had allowed the thought in I have to admit that Erestor was extremely attractive. His dark hair and eyes were exotic and compelling. Half my men stare at him when he is with Elrond, but I have never seen him with a lover or heard mention of one. I wonder why? He mused to himself. Glorfindel stood and left his chambers; perhaps Elrond would answer some of his questions. *Meanwhile* Erestor was also a bit flustered by the encounter with Glorfindel. The balrog slayer had never touched him before and when he had it had startled Erestor a bit. "Damn him and his pestering! I should have locked him on the balcony. It would have served him right!" he said. That of course brought up the question of why he hadn't done so. He could have also locked the library doors. Erestor knew that Elrond had a key, so it wouldn't matter to him. If the doors were locked then Glorfindel couldn't enter because he didn't have one. It would keep the seneschal from bothering him, but Erestor hadn't done so. Erestor frowned. Is it that I enjoy Glorfindel's attention despite his childish behavior? He thought. "Nonsense, Glorfindel is nothing but an arrogant, annoying nuisance and I have no time for this. I have work to be done," he said aloud. He sat down at his desk and picked up the next parchment that needed to be read, only to find he couldn't concentrate. Muttering curses, he rose and left the library. A soft knock on his study door made Elrond look up from his paperwork. "Come in!" he called. He had expected Erestor, so he was rather surprised when Glorfindel walked in. "Am I interrupting?" Glorfindel asked. "No, of course not, mellon-nin. What is it?" Elrond asked. "It is Erestor," Glorfindel said. Elrond raised an eyebrow. "Erestor?" he asked. "Well, more like my thoughts about Erestor. I am finding myself attracted to him for some odd reason and I realized I know little about him," Glorfindel said. "I can tell you only a little. He was born in Mirkwood. His parents were killed when he was very young and he was raised in a foster family. He learned his scribe abilities there and eventually came here when he reached his majority. He proved himself to be an excellent scribe and eventually I also realized he was a skilled diplomat. I made him my chief advisor and I have never regretted it," Elrond said. "I never knew Erestor was from Mirkwood. His hair is dark and most Mirkwood Elves are fair haired," Glorfindel said thoughtfully. "Erestor's father was a friend of mine. He married a maiden from Mirkwood and went there to live. We lost track of each other. I was quite surprised when I found out who Erestor was. There can be no doubt though. Erestor looks just like his father," Elrond said. What about lovers? I have never seen him with anyone. Most of the maidens and a good portion of my men would court him if he would allow it," Glorfindel said. "I can not answer that. Erestor has never spoken of any and it is not my place to ask," Elrond shrugged. "I fear that I have told you all I can." "Thank you, Elrond," Glorfindel said. He stood and left the study. When he headed towards his chamber Glorfindel noticed the library doors were open. He looked inside and found Erestor wasn't there. The library was gloomy with the balcony door closed. A single lamp on the advisor's desk was the only light in the room. Suddenly a wicked notion came to Glorfindel. He hurried to his room to fetch what he needed then hurried back to the library. After all was ready, Glorfindel hid himself in the shadows and waited for Erestor to return. Erestor reentered the room with a goblet of brandy, which he preferred over wine. Sighing, he set the goblet on the desk then opened the drawer in the front of it. Suddenly an ugly, huge spider sprang from the drawer straight at his face. Erestor couldn't keep from crying out and stumbled back from the ugly thing. It was then someone grabbed his shoulder. Without thinking, Erestor reacted. Glorfindel hadn't really expected such a reaction from the advisor and he definitely didn't expect what happened next. His wrist was seized in a grip like steel and he was yanked forward. His eyes widened as he felt his feet leave the floor. An elbow hit him in the stomach, driving the wind from him and he was thrown over the desk and Erestor's shoulder. Yelling, Glorfindel landed heavily on a chair that promptly was reduced to kindling and there was a sharp snap from his arm. Erestor stared at the tangle in front of his desk. "By Eru, Glorfindel! What did you do that for?" he demanded. Glorfindel clutched his arm, which hurt. "It was only a joke and how in Arda did you do that?" he asked. Erestor didn't answer. He was taking a closer look at the spider and realized it was fake. "You fool! You idiot! How dare you! I am heartily sick of your childish pranks! You are supposed to be a warrior! Start acting like one!" Erestor yelled. He grabbed the spider and yanked, breaking the cord it was suspended on then threw it at Glorfindel. "You did not answer my question," Glorfindel said. "I am not going too either! Get out of here!" Erestor shouted. Just then the library doors opened and Elrond hurried into the room. "Erestor? I heard you cry out. Are you hurt?" he asked then he saw Glorfindel and sighed. "Now what has happened?" "This oaf hid a damned spider in my desk!" Erestor said angrily. Elrond looked at his seneschal. "Glorfindel?" he asked mildly. "It was only a joke. It was not real. Look," Glorfindel said. He held up the spider. "I did not know that it would cause such a reaction." "All I saw was this hairy thing leaping at me. The light was dim. How was I to know it was not real?" Erestor demanded. "It was in a desk drawer! How could it have been real?" Glorfindel protested. "Honestly Glorfindel, this was a stupid stunt to pull," Elrond sighed then noticed the balrog-slayer had dropped the spider and was clutching his arm. "What is wrong with your arm?" Elrond asked. "I think it was broken when Erestor tossed me over the desk and I still want to know how he did it," Glorfindel said. Elrond looked at Erestor. "You tossed him, Erestor?" he asked. "He startled me by grabbing my shoulder from the dark. I am sorry," Erestor said. Glorfindel was pleased. "Apology accepted," he said. Erestor glared at him. "I was not talking to you!" he spat. "You deserved to get tossed!" "Enough, let us get Glorfindel to his room and I will get some things and tend his arm," Elrond said. Together they helped Glorfindel to his feet. Suddenly he cried out as a sharp pain shot through his ankle. "What is it?" Elrond asked. "I think my ankle is broken too," Glorfindel said. Elrond just sighed and nodded to Erestor and they got Glorfindel to his chambers and settled on his bed. "Stay with him, Erestor. I will be right back," Elrond ordered and hurried off. Glorfindel smiled at Erestor. "No apology for wounding me, advisor? You know if you wanted to be alone with me in my bedchamber you could have just asked, lirimar," he said. Color flood Erestor's face. "You arrogant, insufferable," he began. "Charming, gorgeous, witty," Glorfindel supplied helpfully. "You are wrong on the first two and only half right on the last!" Erestor snapped. Elrond entered the room before they could get started and began tending Glorfindel's broken bones. "I think that you and I owe Glorfindel an explanation," Elrond said. Erestor sighed and looked at Glorfindel who was watching him expectantly. Erestor had a feeling this was going to be a long afternoon. Chapter 5--Secret Revealed Elrond carefully splinted Glorfindel's arm and ankle then sank into a chair. He gestured to Erestor to join them. Erestor reluctantly left his spot by the window and sat down as well. "Well? I would like to know what happened," Glorfindel said. "I suppose you should have been told a long time ago. Erestor is a Guardian, Glorfindel," Elrond said. "Erestor a guardian, a warrior trained as a master of unarmed fighting? He's an advisor, a scribe!" Glorfindel said. He had heard of Guardians. They were specialized warriors trained in unarmed combat. They were usually placed in a noble house as scribes and other positions that would be close to the lord and his family. His or her abilities were hidden from anyone, but the lord. They were sworn to die protecting the lord and his family if necessary. Erestor just didn't seem the type. "Come, Glorfindel. I would think you who accepts female warriors into your forces would be more willing to accept this. The hands that work a loom or a needle can also draw a bow or wield a sword. Is the hand that wields a quill less capable?" Erestor asked. Glorfindel stared as it hit him that Erestor and Elrond looked very serious. "I can not believe this. Why did you not tell me? I am the leader of the guards. Did you not think I should know?" he asked. "I requested that you not be told. I felt that it might cause trouble and it is something that should be spread about to casually or I can not do what I have sworn to do as effectively," Erestor said. "I suppose not, but it is the last thing I expected. I always thought," Glorfindel began then stopped.. "Do not bother finishing. I am well aware what you and many others think of me and frankly I do not care," Erestor said. He stood. "Just remember that this is a secret and must remain so. May I be excused, Elrond?" "Of course, but after you change into more comfortable clothes I expect you back here," Elrond said. "I beg your pardon, Lord Elrond, but I do not understand," Erestor said. Elrond gave his advisor a stern look. "Your actions caused my seneschal's injuries, so you will be in charge of attending to his needs. That is my command, Erestor. You are excused long enough to change," he said. It was clear from the look on Erestor's face that he wanted to protest, but since his Lord had made it a command he couldn't. He nodded and left the room. "I do not know if this is such a wise idea. He might smother me in my sleep," Glorfindel said. "Then I would be careful not to give him a reason too," Elrond retorted. "You are not much help, mellon-nin," Glorfindel grumbled. "If something does happen then it is on your head." Erestor entered his room with his thoughts reeling. It would take two weeks for the bones to heal no doubt and he would be stuck with Glorfindel until them. The seneschal was going to drive him insane. Muttering under his breath, Erestor exchanged his robe for a black shirt and a pair of gray leggings the headed back to Glorfindel's chamber. Pausing outside, he took a deep breath and entered. Elrond nodded and stood. "I have much to do," he said. "If there is any problem summon me and that means with the injuries." He left the room. Glorfindel grinned at Erestor. "Alone at last," he leered. "Save your juvenile behavior for someone that finds it amusing, seneschal. I am not impressed," Erestor returned sharply. A soft knock on the door distracted them and Erestor went to answer it. Glorfindel grinned as he studied Erestor. He does have a very fine backside, much finer then I thought actually, he thought. Erestor closed the door and went to a chair to sit down. "A servant will serve dinner here tonight," he said. "Sounds good to me though I think I might need help," Glorfindel said. "You only have one broken arm," Erestor snapped. "Aye, but my other hand is sprained from your little stunt with the book, remember?" Glorfindel asked. "So I will require help." The next few hours weren't easy. Glorfindel tried to draw Erestor into a conversation, but the advisor refused to cooperate. Finally there was a knock. Erestor answered then returned with a plate of food. "Dinner, at last. Good, I am starved," Glorfindel said suggestively. Erestor snorted and placed the tray onto Glorfindel's lap. "Stop it," he grumbled. Glorfindel grinned. "Well? Help me eat before it gets cold," he said. Erestor muttered, but did so. Glorfindel enjoyed it immensely. The food was gone all to soon for his taste. "Thank you, lirimar," he said. "Do not call me that!" Erestor snapped. "Why? It is only the truth. You are lovely," Glorfindel said. He was delighted when Erestor blushed. "I am not one of your many lovers and I never will be, so stop this nonsense!" Erestor said. He took the empty tray and set it in the hall where a servant could pick it up. Glorfindel laughed to himself at the frustrated advisor. This was not going to be as bad as he thought.
