He had been deeply engrossed in his thoughts, oblivious to his surroundings. Looking up, he realised he was walked further from the house than he thought. With a sigh, he turned around to walk back, only to find himself crashing into a solid figure. “Elrond.” Erestor’s voice was filled with resignation. “When are you going to finally acknowledge what is happening?” “I am well aware of what is happening,” Erestor said a little harshly. “But you try to ignore it, hoping it will go away. It will not.” Elrond’s voice was uncompromising. “He says he loves me, that our fëar are reaching out to each other. That I should admit I have feelings for him.” “You and Glorfindel are meant for each other, Erestor.” “Really? Since when do you have a mirror like the one Lady Galadriel has?” Elrond shook his head. “You know as well as I that I have the gift of foresight; not as complete as Galadriel, but enough nevertheless.” “And you have foreseen that this would come about between Glorfindel and me?” The lord of Imladris allowed a small smile. “I have, yes. Now it is coming to pass.” “You make it sound as if it is all inevitable.” “It is. It is something of which I am certain. And *you* can not deny it any longer. You know within yourself that Glorfindel is your soul-mate. Continue to ignore your feelings, and in the end you will suffer.” Elrond’s face grew sombre. “You must learn to forgive yourself, mellonen.” ************************ Elvish translations: fëar – souls mellonen – my friend *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
