Title: Golden Starfire Author: Aithilin (nimcuran_aithilin@hotmail.com) Pairings: Elladan/Legolas, Elrohir/OC, Boromir/Glorfindel Rating: NC-17 Summary: Boromir is out to prove that Elves exist to an unreasonable king. Disclaimer: Not mine, never will be. I do own Legolas' brothers and any other random Elves. Warnings: lemon, slight OOC, sap in some places A/N: I know this has prolly been done before, but I decided to do it anyway. All of the Elves are speaking Sindarin, though the Men can't understand it. *********************************************************** "We need more land," Aragorn said as he looked over the maps. "The farmers are getting too crowded and the city still grows." Boromir nodded, "Where do we get this land though?" The King pointed to the north, "There. The forest is useless to us, but if we cut down the trees we can use the land." "There are legends of that area though." "Of Elves. I know," Aragorn rolled the map and went to put it away. He looked at his chief advisor. "They're just legends. Old wives' tales to keep their children and gullible husbands pleased." "There have been sightings-" Aragorn rolled his eyes, "Ah yes. The ramblings of drunkards that wandered too close to the forests. Elves don't exist Boromir." Boromir shifted in his seat, "If they do, if the stories are true, what then?" "Then we go in anyway. Seriously Boromir, aren't you a little old to believe in faerie tales?" The King sat back down and played with the stem of his wine glass, "Of course, if you're so worried, go then. Find the fabled Elves, bring one back as proof. You can have a year for this. It will take me just as long to get everything ready to clear that forest anyway." Boromir stood, "Alright, I will. Maybe a wager is in order?" Aragorn smiled, "What do you have in mind?" "If the Elves exist, since you'll go through with clearing the forest, I govern the land there. In your service of course. But the land, and anything found there is mine." "And if you lose, you get to join the trading parties." Boromir nodded. Joining the trading parties meant that he would be in contact with pretty much everyone he hated. "You have a deal Boromir. One year. Take whatever you think you might need." ******* For the next few weeks, Boromir read everything that mentioned the Elves, trying to get a picture of what they might look like or act. He had found a team of Men willing to come with him. Some were the best hunters that could be spared, people that have been that way before, and his own younger brother. The journey north itself was short. The lands were more or less just plains and fields for farmers. By the end of the first week, the line of trees could be seen. During the nights, Boromir could have sworn he heard a sound like bells. Faramir said that they were in the areas that even the farmers wouldn't go near. Boromir took watch one night. He wandered the edge of the forest, watching the lightening bugs twinkle at random intervals. He had been amazed at how brightly the stars shone at first. While watching the stars, a fast moving shimmer had caught the corner of his eye. When he tried to see the movement again in the forest, the trees stayed dark, hiding whatever the shimmer had been. ************ Elladan frowned as he assessed the group of travellers. They were far too close to the forest for his comfort. Elrohir crouched next to him, mirroring his expression. The red-haired Men seemed to be the leaders, one more than the other. Most of the group consisted of hunters, archers, and swordsmen. Several deer had fallen to the archers already. Some of the younger Elves had started with their games, laughing when they saw the confused expressions of the mortals. "Come on Elrohir," Elladan whispered. "We need to get back." The younger of the twins nodded and stood gracefully. Elladan signalled to the others that had come with them and headed back into the depths of the forest. The trees started to thin out as they reached the main clearing. The twins swiftly climbed the ladder to the main flet in the largest of the trees. The council was just beginning. Thranduil sat with his eldest son, Rhiernil, across the table from Elrond, Glorfindel, and now the twins. Galadriel and Celeborn were at the head. The Elves all lived in the enormous forest of Greenwood. Though in the recent years Elves have been leaving Middle-Earth in favour of the Havens and the Undying Lands. Thranduil ruled the area to the north of the forest, giving the Elves an underground refuge when it was needed. Elrond governed the western edge near the Misty Mountains, ensuring safe passage through the mountains. Galadriel and her consort held the center of the forest itself. They ruled the Elves unofficially, sharing the power they held with the other two lords of the council. "What have you two learned of the Men from the south?" Galadriel asked in her maddingly calm voice. "They came with hunters and trappers. It's larger than a normal hunting party though, they look like they're scouting," Elladan answered. "A Man named 'Boromir' seems to lead them," Elrohir answered. "Another by the name if 'Faramir' looks to be the second-in-command." Celeborn nodded, "Thank you then. The younglings must be kept close to home then. If these Men are hunters, they may be led back here." "Feinereg will speak with all the young ones," Thranduil said. "He has their respect and it will seem less an order that way." Elrond nodded, "Indeed. More scouts should be placed on the borders. If the Men enter the forest, it may cause a fight." "The festival will continue as planned previously. We cannot let this disturbance interfere," Galadriel spoke as she stood. She turned to Thranduil. "Have your sons scout the edges of our borders. I'm sure they will miss nothing. Any repairs in our guard systems must be made before the festival day." All assembled nodded and Galadriel dismissed the council. Elladan approached Thranduil. "Has Legolas been seen lately?" Thranduil smiled, "Yes, he and Nimelen went to the rivers. They should still be there." "Thanks you." Legolas was the youngest son of Thranduil. Elladan's beloved for over three years now. Both Elrond and Thranduil had approved the decision made by their sons and were arranging the formal ceremonies to let them bond. Only Legolas' brothers had any objections to Elladan being with their young brother, though their arguments were mostly based on the age difference. Legolas was only 200, having reached his majority only six years ago. Elladan smiled as he remembered the confrontations with Legolas' three over- protective brothers. There were three rivers through the forest, as well as one large lake near Thranduil's realm. The largest river was the closest, so that's where Elladan headed. The stars could be seen through the leafy canopy and the Half-Elf looked up to see the bright specks of light. The trees thinned out near the edge of the river. There were a few large rocks around the banks and one semicircle of them to form a place to sit and gather. There were rope bridges (just strings of ropes across the waters) at different intervals. Each rope would lead to another path that would take someone to a different part of the forest. Elladan stopped at the edge of the trees and smiled. Legolas and Nimelen were sitting in the cricle of rocks. Legolas on the ground leaning back against one of the boulders. Nimelen was sitting on the rock across from his brother and had one leg folded under him. Both were laughing at something. Elladan leaned against the nearest tree and smiled at the sight of his golden love. Legolas was dressed in the Elven robes most others were wearing, though his were in the clours of Thranduil's house. His hair was left loose to fall around his shoulders but was kept from his face with a few thin strips of mithril and gold woven into a band. His entire form was bathed in the moonlight and slight mist from the water. Elladan held back the intense desire to walk over and claim those smiling lips. Nimelen looked up and spotted Elladan. He gave his brother a teasing smile then stood. Legolas looked over and smiled at Elladan. Nimelen walked passed the Half-Elf, "I'm coming to look if you don't have him back in an hour." Elladan raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure you'd want to see what we're doing if it takes that long?" "Just get him back home soon," Nimelen disappeared down the path Elladan had just left. The Half-Elf smiled and made his way over to Legolas. The younger Elf looked up, "What brings you out here?" Elladan crouched and gave Legolas a quick kiss, "You, my beautiful one." Legolas blushed and took Elladan's hand as the other stood. The elder gently ran his hand through Legolas' hair, admiring the other's golden features. "What? What is it?" "How is it that you never seem to believe when someone says how beautiful you are?" Legolas blushed, "I'm not special." Elladan tilted his chin up to give him another kiss, "Yes you are love. Now, I think we should be getting back. You're brother won't give me the full hour he promised." Legolas chuckled, "How did your scouting go?" "Good, I suppose," Elladan answered as he took Legolas' hand and started back to the 'city.' "The group of Men are near the borders. Most of them are hunters so we don't know what they're up to." Legolas nodded, "I'll talk to my father later." Elladan sighed and kissed Legolas again. ************ Thranduil watched as Elladan sat with Legolas and a few of the other young ones. Elrohir was playing a board game with Feinereg. "Amazing how they can know that there is a danger but still play." Thranduil looked at Elrond, "I agree with you there friend." Elrond chuckled as he saw the look Rhiernil gave Elladan as the latter moved his hand over Legolas' back and whispered something to him. Thranduil shook his head, amused. "I'll have to talk to Rhiernil later." "They're just being protective of their little brother," Elrond said. "Elrohir had his own objections to them as well." "He was quiet about them then. I myself was worried about their ages." Elrond nodded, "As was I. But they seem right for each other." ************** Legolas smiled and rested his head on Elladan's shoulder. His brothers were giving the dark-haired Elf wary looks again and Legolas was starting to get tired of it. Elrohir glanced up to the walkway behind them and smiled. Elladan followed his brother's line of sight and waved to their father. The Autumn Festival was being held in a few days, this would be the last night they could just sit around and relax for until the festival itself. The twins would be needed to help the hunting parties, Thranduil's two eldest sons would be joining the scouting and guard parties now because of the Men. Nimelen and Legolas would be helping the Elders organize the festival. There would be groups that would need to go through the forest to the small areas that had be used for planting. There were small gardens of vegetables scattered around the forests, all were taken care of by various Elves. Everything would need to be harvested before the first frost. Over the course of an hour, their little group tapered down to just Elladan and Legolas. The two had rooms close to each other, though they didn't share a bed yet. Elladan pushed Legolas against the wall next to his door. He kissed the younger Elf gently. "I love you Legolas," Elladan said softly after breaking the kiss. Legolas nuzzled Elladan's neck. "Love you too." The dark-haired Half-Elf smoothed out Legolas' silken hair, "Rest well." Legolas nodded and kissed Elladan softly. The younger Elf was a few inches shorter than Elladan, though neither minded. They broke apart and Elladan wached Legolas go into his room before making the short trip to his own. *********** ~~**~~Next Morning~~**~~ Boromir was pacing around the campsite. Faramir sat on a hewn log and watched his brother. "You'll eventually have to stop doing that you know." Boromir glared at his brother, "We'll need to get into the forest if this is going to go anywhere. However the others are already claiming magic and such." "They're superstitious," Faramir said with a shrug. "They don't know what to expect and fear the stories they've heard." Boromir rolled his eyes, "If the Elves are there, they can't be any more intelligent than animals. I doubt there's any threat." "We never know." "Well, talk to them. We'll head in today." ************ Legolas sighed as he listened to his father talk to Celebdae, the leader of the guards. Celebdae's wife was sitting next to Legolas with a similar bored expression. Elladan had left with Elrohir to do a quick patrol of the borders. Nimelen had gotten out of the lectures to join a hunting party. Feinereg had gone with the gathering parties. Rhiernil was talking with Elrond. Legolas had wanted to go with the twins rather than stay behind like some child, but his father was just as protective as his brothers and he had all of them telling him "no." Never mind that he was one of the best shots of the Elves. Haldir and Glorfindel had taught him archery and he had already surpassed them. Celebdae glanced at him and smiled, "Since I'll be heading out to the borders, why don't I take young Legolas with me?" Legolas perked up and looked at his father. Thranduil sighed, "I suppose better with you than alone." The young Elf smiled and hugged his father, "Thanks." "Just stay out of trouble. Stay close to Elladan and Elrohir when you see them." "Me, in trouble?" Thranduil gave his son a wry look, "Legolas." "I'll behave." Thranduil shook his head and smiled as Legolas left with Celebdae. The young blonde wore a tunic, shirt, and leggings. All in the forest colours he loved. Legolas grabbed his bow and quiver before following the Guard Master down one of the paths to the southern border. Elladan looked up from his post when he heard the deliberate noises made by approaching Elves. He saw Celebdae and Legolas and smiled. He had known that it would be only a matter of time before Legolas found a way to get away from his duties. Elrohir waved them over. "They've started getting closer," he said softly, indicating the Men trying to get through the forest. They were all in one of the thick trees to watch the procession of Men. Elladan frowned as the group moved passed them. "Celebdae, go warn the guards further back. Get to Celeborn if you can. Elrohir, go tell Father what's happening." "What about you two?" Elladan glanced at Legolas, "I want to check their path. Legolas can come with me, I'll signal if we need help." Elrohir frowned but silently followed the tree-bound path back with Celebdae. Legolas looked at Elladan nervously, "Are you sure about this?" "We'll be careful, just stay close," Elladan gave Legolas a deep kiss before climbing down from his perch. Legolas followed and looked around. His sharp eyes kept a close watch of the ground paths, including the one the Men had just cleared for themselves. Elladan led him to one of the huge trees that they had once played on when they were young. The Men were camped out under the tree's huge boughs. Elladan crouched to try to hear what was being said and held Legolas back a bit. he frowned and was about to move to a better position when his leg knocked an already broken branch off it's balance. ********** "Look," Boromir was getting iritated now; "Whatever is in this forest won't be able to out-power us. Now get over those old stories and superstitions!" His rant was interupted by the noise of something fallen. He looked up into the branches of the tree they rested under. A flash of white material caught his eye. He grabbed the bow and an arrow from one of the hunters and fired into the branches. "Fire," the Man ordered. "Find out what that was." **************** Elladan said a few choice words as the arrow skimmed him, he looked at Legolas. The blonde dodged, another arrow that had been shot into the tree. He jumped to his beloved's side, "Are you alright?" Legolas nodded, "I didn't think they'd be this agressive." "Neither did I," Elladan said grimly. He pulled Legolas out of the way of another arrow but it wasn't fast enough. He could hear the blonde's whimper and growled. "Hold on." He whistled sharply before three more arrows knocked Elladan off balance and he fell still gripping Legolas close to him. He felt the air rush from him as he broke Legolas' fall. He opened his eyes to see the bearded faces of the Men above him. ************ Everyone stared at the two figures in silent shock. Boromir was the first to break out of the shock. He ordered his Men to grab the two. The light-haired and fair skinned one had blood dripping from the arrow wound on his shoulder. The larger of his Men wrenched the two apart and the dark-haired one immediately started fighting, it took three more to effectively subdue them both. They were tied with ropes and put them against the the large tree. "I can't believe it," Faramir said slowly. "You were right Boromir." Boromir reached out to the arrow in the light-haired Elf and heared the low growl from the other. The slight creature tried to pull away from him but he was held in place by Faramir. He heard the whimper as the arrow was pulled. "Dress the wound," Boromir ordered Faramir. "Try to keep him subdued." Boromir turned to the dark-haired captive. The Elf shot a glance at his companion before fixing a glare on Boromir. "Can you understan me?" Boromir asked slowly. The Elf turned away from him, silent. The fair-haired Elf winced in pain as Faramir touched the wound. Boromir caught the grey eyes narrowing as they focused of Faramir. One of the Men approached him, "What do we do now Lord Boromir?" Boromir looked at what they had. Their horse seemed fidgety but it's harness was able to be hooked up to the wooden wagon that had been carrying their equipment. "We need to bring at least one of them back to Gondor. We can keep them tied and use the wagon." "We'll have to keep our eyes open," Faramir said as he moved closer to his brother. *************** Elladan watched as the Man moved away from Legolas. He was pissed. Celebdae and Elrohir might have already been too far to hear the whistle, or too far to get here in time to help. He ignored the Man, Boromir, when he was spoken to. The other that had wrapped Legolas' wound had done nothing to clean it. The flush on his beloved's face was enough indication of the beginings of illness from infection of a poison. These Men were going to pay in blood for hurting Legolas. "Elladan..." the name was spoken softly as Legolas' tried to move closer to Elladan. The soft voice was enough to draw the attention of the Men. Elladan quickly undid the loose bonds and ignored the weapons pointed at him as he pulled Legolas close. ************** Boromir drew his sword quickly as he saw the rope fall from the dark-haired Elf's hands. The fierceness left the grey eyes as they focused on the smaller Elf. 'Hold on beautiful one, I'll get us out of this.' Boromir heard the softness in the voice but couldn't understand a word of the language it spoke. He watched as deft hands undid the ropes that bound the smaller Elf. The dark-haired one turned to them. "What was on that arrow?" Every Man in the clearing just stood where they were. Again, Boromir was the first to recover, "You can speak our language?" The grey eyes held the fierceness they did before, "Yes I do. Now what was on that arrow?" "An herb used to disable opponents." "The effects?" Boromir started to recover from the shock of hearing the Elf speak the Common Tongue. "They'll last a few hours." The Elf turned back to the other and placed a hand over his forehead, 'Rest Legolas. You'll be well soon.' The smaller Elf rested his head on the other's shoulder and closed his eyes, 'Don't kill them Elladan, I don't want you hurt.' Boromir stepped up, "Now-" "What do you want here?" "What?" The Elf rolled his eyes, "What do you want here? The forest has been left alone for years." "We were looking for you. Well, for Elves," Boromir tried to explain. "Why? And why attack us?" Boromir narrowed his eyes, "Why the hell were you watching us?" "You were in our forest." Faramir leaned over to Boromir, "Not so stupid are they?" "I heard that." Boromir shook his head, "Enough of this. You, and that one, are coming back to Gondor with us. Resist, and we might have to hurt someone." The only response was a raised eyebrow. Boromir took this as a good sign, "Do you have names? Or shall I just refer to you both as 'Elf?'" "My name is Elladan, this is Legolas. If you, or anyone else comes near him, I *will* kill you." Boromir sheathed his sword, "Don't resist, don't do anything to cause us any trouble, and you'll both be fine." Elladan looked down at Legolas, the conflict warring on his fair features. He finally closed his eyes in resignation, too much time had passed already for help to come. "Fine." Boromir smiled, "Good. Get in the wagon, and stay there." He turned to the other Men, "We leave as soon as everything is set up. Take their weapons and keep them with our own." Elladan gave up his sword an dagger as well as Legolas' quiver. He felt the blonde stir in his arms as he moved to the wooden wagon. Legolas was awake from his healing sleep. 'Stay still little one, I'll explain what's happening later.' 'I heard,' Legolas' voice was soft enough not to draw the attention of the Men. 'My knife, it's in the pocket of my boot. Take it.' Elladan smiled slightly, 'Always prepared eh? The haven't noticed it yet, leave it for now.' Legolas nodded slightly, 'What do we do?' 'We wait. Thranduil and Father will soon know and send help. I won't risk them hurting you, if we can sneak out during the night, we will. Until then, let me handle them.' Legolas nodded and let Elladan lay him in the wagon. He felt the other sit close to him and relaxed, trusting that Elladan would know what to do. Boromir relaxed as the Elves were secured in the wagon and the horse hitched up to it. He couldn't believe it, not only did the Elves exist, he had two in his custody. For the first time since seeing them, he let himself look them over. The dark-haired one had strong features, a fierceness was about him that suggested a strong warrior and hunter. Not someone that would give in easily. Obviously the light- haired one meant enough to him that he wouldn't risk harm to him. The other was absolutely beautiful though. The golden features seemed pure and innocent, a stark contrast to the dark, raw strength of his companion. They were both carrying weapons, so they must have been trained by someone. If there were other Elves, he would have to find out how many, if they had an army, and if not an army, how many were warriors like the dark-haired one, or seemingly innocents like the golden one. Once ready, the group moved out. Following the path they had used to get there, Boromir let Faramir take the lead while he hung back to keep an eye on the Elves. He would need to get them a blanket or something for when they passed through the inhabited areas. The one named Elladan already wore a white cloak over his navy blue tunic. The other didn't wear anything other than his deep green tunic and brown leggings. It shouldn't be too hard to make sure a blanket covered them as they passed through the few towns until the city. He couldn't wait to see the look on Aragorn's face. ************ Elrohir was panting by the time he reached Elrond, Thranduil and Celeborn at the council flet. "Elrohir what happened? Where are Elladan and Legolas?" "They were taken. I heard Elladan signal for help." Thranduil's eyes widened, "What happened?" "I went to help. There wasn't anything I could do. They were outnumbered and Legolas was hurt. It wasn't bad, but it was enough to disable him. Elladan was protecting him." Celeborn stood from his seat, "Was anything said?" Elrohir nodded, "Yes, but I wasn't close enough to hear. We have to send someone!" "Indeed," Galadriel said as she entered the room. "But it will need to wait." A chorus of voices echoed, "What?" "We cannot let any other than those we send to know of this. If there was unrest..." The assembled nodded in understanding. They would gather those they knew that would be able to recover the two and then send them. Elrohir explained everything he had seen and heard to the council so as they planned. *********************************************************** ********** The group of Men stopped for the night just outside one of the farming towns on the road back to Gondor. The Elves had talked to each other in their musical language at times, but it was otherwise quiet among the group. Boromir had given the two Elves blankets and was keeping an eye on them. He didn't want the Elves to be hurt by any of his Men but he didn't want them to think they were anything more than prisoners either. So far they hadn't tried to get away, but they refused to eat anything that had been given to them. The blonde hadn't spoken anything of the Common Tongue and the dark-haired one had been guarding him constantly. Elladan glared at the Men as they sat, ate, talked, and kept looking over at them. The red-head was starting to annoying him. Legolas shifted and looked around, already bored and frustrated at not being able to do anything. He tensed as a flicker of light caught his eye. Elladan looked at him, 'What is it?' 'A light...there!' Elladan followed Legolas' line of sight and saw the flash of white light from a grove of trees a little way back. The dark-haired Half-Elf got an idea, 'Your knife.' Legolas handed over the blade and positioned himself to block the sight of any of the Men that were preparing themselves for night. Elladan turned slightly to try to catch the light from the fire. ******************** Elrohir growled as he saw the Men's camp. He couldn't see any sign of his brother or friend and only Glorfindel's hand on his arm was keeping him from rushing in to kill the bastards. Haldir had been sent by Celeborn to help and moved to crouch just outside of the grove. Glorfindel had just tried signalling the two captive Elves with the flat of his dagger. Haldir's alert eyes caught an answering flash of light. "There!" Haldir pointed out another flash. "At least one of them is able to answer." Glorfindel nodded, "The Men outnumber us. Wait until they're asleep, then we'll get close." Elrohir nodded, "Fine, we wait. But if either of them is hurt-" "We'll kill them," Haldir finished. ****************** Boromir was watching Legolas, he wondered if Aragorn would let him keep the lithe, golden Elf. The Men were preparing for the evening and Boromir waved off Faramir's suggestions of preparing himself. 'We need to wait until they've gone to sleep,' Legolas said softly. 'It shouldn't be very long.' Elladan nodded and pulled Legolas closer to him. He caught Boromir's eyes on his beloved and smiled evilly. Legolas looked up. 'What is it?' Elladan tilted his head and kissed Legolas possessively. They were both panting as the kiss broke. Boromir growled and narrowed his eyes as he saw the kiss. He knew there must have been some reason the dark-haired warrior had been protecting Legolas so vehemently. He fought the surge of jealousy and stood. He could have sworn he saw Elladan's smirk as he turned away from them. Elladan nuzzled Legolas' neck while the blonde purred pleasantly. There was another flash of light, closer this time. Elladan kept one arm around Legolas and signalled back with the hunting knife. He could make out three figures and smiled. 'We'll be back home soon dear one.' Legolas sighed and kissed Elladan's jaw. He saw the figures as well and wondered how his father had acted when he learned of their capture. Probably prepared for a war until Elrond calmed him, his brothers were probably no better. The only Men remaining awake were two watchmen at the fire and Boromir. Elladan moved the blanket that covered them. 'Are you ready?' Legolas nodded and shifted position. Elladan signalled the figures again and they saw the movement again. The Men were talking amongst themselves. 'Brother?' Elladan saw Elrohir lightly running over to their side. 'Are you harmed? How's Legolas?' 'I'm fine Elrohir,' Legolas edged closer. Elrohir nodded and moved closer to the guards and Boromir. Elladan saw Glorfindel and Haldir grab a guard as Elrohir grabbed Boromir. The guards fell soundlessly and lifeless to the ground. A hand over Boromir's mouth prevented any noise. The no-longer-captive Elves stretched and silently padded over to Elrohir. 'What should we do with this one?' the younger twin asked. Legolas found his bow and quiver and Elladan's sword. 'Bring him back with us?' Elladan raised an eyebrow at Legolas' suggestion as he accepted his sword and dagger, 'I say we kill him now. It may be more merciful than what our fathers would do to him.' Haldir shook his head, 'No. He wants Elves, let him face the justice of Elves as well.' Elrohir nodded his agreement, 'Haldir's right. We need to go soon, the others may wake. We can't handle them all.' Glorfindel picked up some rope and Boromir tried to increase his struggles. Elrohir's grip stayed firm and Glorfindel tied him quickly. Elladan's hand replaced his brother's over the Man's mouth. "You wanted to see Elves, so now you'll get to see Elves. Make any noise or wake your Men and they'll undoubtedly kill us, but not before we kill you," Elladan saw Boromir's eyes flit to Legolas. "You don't want Legolas to be hurt do you?" At the slow shake of Boromir's head Elladan smirked and withdrew his hand. Glorfindel quickly looked Legolas over for injuries before they quietly made their way back to the forest. Boromir didn't struggle or make any noise to alert his Men, to his benefit. The Elves had travelled by horse and they had brought two extra steeds. Glorfindel hoisted Boromir onto his horse since he had always been the only one to use a saddle and reins. Elladan smiled and mounted his horse, watching Legolas do the same in one fluid movement. The ride was smooth along the roads made by the Men of Gondor and they made considerably good time. The group was on the Elven roads of the forest in no time. Elladan rode close to Legolas and smirked as he saw Boromir's eyes widen once they reached their home. Thranduil embraced Legolas the second the young Elf had dismounted. Rhiernil, Feinereg, and Nimelen greeted their little brother in similar fashion. Elrond did the same with Elladan, then carefully looked him over for any injuries. Nimelen made a fuss over Legolas' healing arrow wound until Elrond took notice and ushered him off with Thranduil's approval. Boromir shrank back from the sight of the eternally calm Galadriel and Celeborn. The golden Lord and Lady of the Elves let their cold eyes soften only when they rested on Elrond taking Legolas off to be checked and Elladan smiling as his brother greeted him properly. Thranduil looked to the royal couple, 'What do we do with the Man? He must pay for taking them, for taking Legolas.' Celeborn nodded his agreement, 'He must pay, yes, but we cannot be too quick to decide on punishment.' 'Why not?' Rhiernil expressed, stepping forward. 'He must pay for taking Legolas and Elladan, never mind coming into the forest and setting everyone on edge. The Men he came with-' 'Will look for him once they realize he's gone,' Galadriel interupted. 'Restrain yourself Rhiernil, we cannot risk a war with Men.' Rhiernil backed down but continued to glare at the confused Boromir. Elladan was led off by Elrohir in the direction their father had taken Legolas, followed closely by Nimelen. Galadriel, Celeborn, and Thranduil turned their attention on Boromir. ******* Boromir watched the Elves talk. Four of them shared the same light features of Legolas but all had strong characteristics. One practically yelled something to the two golden Elves. The two also had golden features, but it was the same blinding gold and silver with soft features that Legolas had. The two twins and one of the ones that had greeted Legolas left. He flinched under the sharp gaze of the remaining Elves. "You," the golden male Elf said; "have a lot to explain." *********************************************************** ********* Elrond smiled gently, "That should prevent infection." Legolas sighed and leaned against Elladan. The dark-haired Half-Elf sat behind him and pulled Legolas against his broad chest. Legolas sat between his beloved's legs with his head on Elladan's shoulder. Elrohir and Nimelen sat nearby, both with similar smiles. "What are we going to do with you two?" Elrond asked with an amused expression. Elladan grinned, "Let us bond?" Legolas chuckled and kissed Elladan's jaw. Elrond shook his head, "I was thinking along those lines myself." Four pairs of eyes focused on Elrond. The Elven-Lord cleared his throat, "I see no problem with this and I'll speak with Thranduil about making your bethrothal official." Elladan's arms tightened around Legolas' waist and he kissed the blonde's neck. Legolas smiled and cuddled himself further against Elladan. "Of course," Nimelen started; "I'm still going to object to this. Though maybe it's a good thing no one takes us seriously." Elladan snorted, "Why spend so much energy bringing up our little age difference?" Elrohir raised an eyebrow, "You call three thousand years a *little* difference?" Legolas shrugged. Elrond chuckled and stood, "Come. If you wish to see what that Man has to say, I'll take you to one of the overlooking balconies." The group nodded and stood, stretching slightly. They followed Elrond along the tree paths, ropes connecting flet to flet. They stopped above the clearing where the other Elven leaders were confronting the Man. Elrond left them to join Galdriel and the others. ***** Boromir swallowed hard, he really didn't know what to expect now. All the research he had done, all the stories he heard and read, everything he thought he knew about the Elves went out the window. The beautiful beings in front and around him were obviously not base creatures. He could catch glimpses of an entire tree-bound city beyond them, with even more Elves going about various tasks. The dark-haired, stern faced Elf that had ushered Legolas off returned and looked Boromir over before turning to the others. 'Legolas is well. I think we should discuss our sons soon Thranduil.' Celeborn looked at Boromir, "I am Celeborn, the Lord of this forest. My wife Galadriel rules by my side as an equal. The two you had taken were the sons of Thranduil," he indicated Thranduil then Elrond; "and Elrond, two rulers in their own right." "You have disrupted our ways by coming here, even more so by taking to of our dearest," Galadriel said coldly. "We cannot let you simply leave, and you must face our justice." "Why have you come in the first place?" Celeborn asked. Boromir hesitated, "I...My King needed the land and I was sent to see if there were inhabitants." "So why take our sons?" Thranduil demanded. "I was asked to bring proof." The Elves looked at each other, angry that this Man seemed to have no remorse. Glorfindel recognized that Thranduil's other sons were getting a murderous glint in their eyes. He glanced at his Lords and Lady. 'Perhaps this would be better discussed elsewhere?' Glorfindel suggested. Haldir seemed to catch the meaning. 'I agree. The preperations for the festival should continue. Now that we have new reason for celebration.' Galadriel nodded and Glorfindel started to lead a protesting Rhiernil and Feinereg away. Celeborn looked at his companions, a silent conversation passing between them. He turned back to the fidgeting Man, that would normally be amusing to see if the situation wasn't so serious. "You will be imprisoned until we asses exactly what has been happening. Behave and you will be treated fairly. Cause any problem and you will be killed." Boromir nodded his understanding and Celeborn signalled for two nearby guards to take the Man to one of the chambers. Thranduil turned to Elrond after Celeborn and Galadriel left. "What is it that you wanted to speak of?" Elrond indicated the group of youngsters watching them from the balcony above them. They waved from their perch. Thranduil smiled as Nimelen started to tease his brother, the two Lords couldn't hear what was being said, but the playful smiles were dead give aways. "I think we need to get those two bonded. They'll undoubtedly stay together anyway, but both are far too stubborn to go beyond what they have without the formalities settled." Thranduil smiled, "I'm not fond of the idea of giving up Legolas, he's still young. But I trust your judgement." Elrond nodded, "We should discuss this with them, see if they're ready. Some time before the festival tomorrow." ***** Nimelen grinned when he saw his brother blush at his teasing. Elladan just tightened his hold on Legolas and smiled. Elrohir led the way down from the balcony. Their fathers had finished talking and were walking the same paths to the main flets. "So now what?" Elladan asked as Nimelen and Legolas decided that dropping pine combs on Rhiernil below them might be entertaining for a while. Elrohir smiled, "We could always spar. I'm sure Glorfindel has something to say about you getting yourself caught." Elladan swatted him. Legolas came up and they could just hear Rhiernil's threats from below them. "That's actually a good idea Elrohir. About time you had one." Elladan chuckled, "I agree, on both counts." "You shut up Elladan, if you ever want to stop hearing about being captured," Elrohir glared at his brother then turned to Legolas. "And you should respect your elders." Legolas grinned, "You should respect your betters." Elrohir and Nimelen snorted. Elladan chuckled and climbed down the ladder that led to the training area. Elrohir glared at Legolas, "Care to prove that you're my better?" Legolas smirked, "With pleasure." **************** Boromir looked out the window of the room he had been put in. There were several other balconies and buildings in the trees across from him, as well as a few huts on the ground. Directly in his line of sight was a long field with one square area on either end. He was pretty high up, but he could see archery targets lined up at various distances. Four Elves climbing down from one of the other platforms caught Boromir's eye. One he could easily recognize as Legolas with his golden hair. There was another blonde but his hair was a duller colour, it must be one of Legolas' brothers. He could see the twins, and he assumed the one that put his hands on Legolas' waist and pulled him off the ladder was Elladan. The Man growled at the sight. He lusted after the golden Elf, he couldn't deny that. But he was in more than enough trouble as it was. Boromir couldn't believe a) he had been right that Elves exist, and b)he had underestimated them horribly. He watched as the four Elves played around on the training field. One of the twins and Legolas pick up bows and quivers while the other two leaned against one of the ever- handy rail guards. As he watched, Boromir thought back to his brother. Though there was a lot of space between the trees, the branches were long and seemed intertwined at times above the Elven city. Neither the stars nor the sun could be seen through the thick leaves. The only hint at the time Boromir could see was a hint of red from what he assumed was the east. It wasn't very dark, all things considering, more like the early mornings in the covered market district in the White City. A light golden bathed the forest, even a slight fog added to the whole mystical effect. Faramir would be waking now, realizing what had happened. Most likely sending someone back to report to Aragorn while organizing a rescue party. Or simply going back to Gondor and having a war started. Boromir jumped out of his musings by the door being opened. An Elf stood there with a covered tray. No words were exchanged as the tray was placed on the small table and the Elf left. Boromir uncovered the tray and raised an eyebrow at the small amount of food. A few assorted pieces of fruits, a broth, and a few slices of white meat. These Elves must eat like birds. Boromir shook his head, scratch that, even birds have to eat dark meat at some point. The Man picked up a piece of fruit and tested it before going back to the window. Maybe they were trying to keep him weak so he couldn't escape. ********* "Ha," Legolas smiled and stuck his tongue out at Elrohir. Another perfect hit. Elrohir sighed and threw his half empty quiver at Legolas' feet. "I concede." Legolas grinned and put his own bow down. Elrohir smiled evilly and tackled the younger Elf. "You may be better at archery, but I'm still stronger." The four laughed and all joined in the little play fight. Glorfindel cleared his throat as he walked onto the field. He had an amused look on his face as the group stopped. Elladan stradled Legolas, and Nimelen had Elrohir in a headlock. "May I ask what you children are doing?" Nimelen let Elrohir go and grinned, "He started it." Glorfindel chuckled, "Well then, I suppose it will be up to Elrohir to pick up the quivers. Nim, you get to help him." Nimelen stuck out his tongue as Glorfindel turned to Elladan and Legolas. Elrohir tapped his head with an arrow. "So it seems that all of Thranduil's sons have moments of childish behaviour," Elrohir teased. Glorfindel shook his head at Elladan and Legolas. Elladan was stealing a deep kiss from the younger Elf, "You do remember that you aren't even properly betrothed right?" "What's your point?" Elladan asked sweetly. "Get off of poor Legolas." Legolas smiled, "I don't mind him where he is." The Weapons Master sighed and dragged Elladan to his feet with his collar, "Thranduil and Elrond want to talk to you both. They're in the council room." Legolas jumped up, "Thanks Glorfy." Glorfindel raised an eyebrow, "Call me that again, and I'll kill you." Legolas smiled sweetly. Elladan, Elrohir, and Nimelen were trying, and failing horribly, to hold in their laughter. Glorfindel shook his head, "Just go." Elladan and Legolas took off. Elrohir gave up trying not to laugh. "'Glorfy.'" "Shut up Nim," Glorfindel batted Nimelen. "Legolas used to be sweet. You're a bad influence." Elrohir grinned, "At least he already learned not to tease Gandalf." ******************* Thranduil and Elrond watched their sons come in. The young Elves were smiling and flushed. "You wanted to see us?" Elladan asked, sitting down across from his father. Legolas took the seat next to his beloved. Elrond nodded, "We both think it's time your betrothal became formal." Thranduil smiled at the happy look from both their sons, "There won't be a public announcement, but I'm sure Galadriel and Celeborn will wish to speak with you both." Elladan smiled and Legolas kissed him. It was a deep kiss and both fathers smiled and shook their heads. "I take it you're both pleased?" Thranduil asked with an amused smile. Elladan put his arm around Legolas' shoulders, "Yes. Thank you." Elrond nodded, "If you're ready, perhaps it would be best to have the bonding ceremony as soon as possible." "After the festival?" Legolas suggested. "That would be best," Thranduil agreed. *********************************************************** ************ ~~**~~Gondor~~**~~ Aragorn raised an eyebrow, "Boromir was captured?" Faramir nodded, "He insisted on keeping guard on the Elves we caught. In the morning, they were gone." "So let me get this straight," Aragorn leaned back in his chair. "You got to the forest, two Elves just happen to fall into your laps, then they get away, with one of the best warriors in the kingdom, while you were taking them back here. That about it?" Farmir nodded mutely. Aragorn shook his head, "You really expect me to believe that?" "I would suggest that you do." Both Men looked to the door to see a familiar grey-clad figure standing there. Aragorn stood, "Gandalf, it's good to see you again. Tell me what you mean, please." The wizard stepped into the room, "The Elves do exist Aragorn, I have met with them several times over the years, give or take a few hundred." "Gandalf, I can't just-" "They exist Aragorn, and have long before your ancestors built this city. This matter should not be taken lightly, I doubt they want Boromir within their own kingdoms for fear of a war." Aragorn paced, working what had been said through his mind. Gandalf's word was not to be taken lightly, if the Istari said the Elves were real, than it was more than likely to be true. Boromir had long been his friend and now he was in the custody of an elusive being that had thousands of tales telling of their cruelty to human prisoners. "Very well. Elves exist, and have Boromir," Aragorn turned back to Gandalf. "What do we do?" "I will go speak with them to see if I can convince them to let your general go." "I will go with you." The look on Aragorn's face brooked no arguement and Gandalf nodded. *************** ~~**~~Elves Forest~~**~~ Legolas watched his brothers help set up the last of the celebration decoration. Really they were just ordering others around and trying to look busy so Haldir didn't give them any actual work. The ruling Elves were looking over the final preparations for both the celebration and the bonding ceremony. He smiled, he and Elladan would finally be bonded. The thought warmed him. "Whatcha doing?" The young Elf turned in the arm that had just encircled his waist and kissed Elladan. "Just thinking." Elladan lifted one hand to gently caress Legolas cheek, "Are you nervous?" Legolas nodded, "Yes. Are you?" "Terrified." Legolas chuckled, "That doesn't help." Elladan smiled, "So long as we're both scared." They had already spoken with Galadriel and Celeborn, recieving their blessings and Elladan getting a stern warning to protect Legolas. Thranduil and Elrond had been setting up the details for the ceremony, deciding that it would take place near the small waterfall beyond the city. Elrohir, Nimelen, Feinereg, Rhiernil, Glorfindel, and Haldir would bare witness to the ceremony. Thranduil and Elrond of course would be there, as would Galadriel. Celeborn would preform the rites for it. Legolas smiled and rested his head on Elladan's shoulder, "It's really going to happen isn't it?" Elladan nodded and rubbed Legolas' back, "Yeah. Three years and endless taunts from your brothers." The soft laugh was music to Elladan's ears. He smiled and looked over the activities below. Nimelen and Elrohir were playing around with a string of latterns made with the fine crystals that the smiths had worked hard on. The celebration would get underway tonight at dusk, the ceremony would be at midnight. "I think Elrohir likes Nim," Legolas muttered as he relaxed further. "I think you're right." They stayed in silence for a few more minutes before Elladan suggested that they rest for a few hours. Elladan pulled Legolas into his room and smiled. "Won't do anything but sleep," Elladan gave Legolas a chaste kiss. "Promise." He was rewarded with a smile and pulled the smaller Elf to the bed, covering them both with the downy blanket. ********* Boromir paced his room. He was growing frustrated with his captivity. If he wanted, he was sure that he could break the door and try to escape, but he knew he would undoubtedly be stopped long before he made it to the ground. He hadn't been bothered by the Elves and he was starting to wonder if this imprisonment was all they planned to do. He was worried about Faramir, had his brother returned to Gondor? Or was he lying on the outskirts of the forest, slain by an Elven arrow? He hoped it was the former. If his brother was in Gondor, what would he tell Aragorn? Not knowing what was going on was what was frustrating him the most. He could see preparations for something in the areas around him as he looked out the window. A number of Elves had been training on the long field and from what he could see, almost all Elves were well trained warriors. How Aragorn was going to gain control of the forest was beyond him unless he used brute force. Boromir frowned at the thought. Even though he was being held as a prisoner, he had to admit that what he had seen of the forest was beautiful beyond anything he had read of, and he had seen only a small fraction. The Elves, while cold and obviously upset, were nothing but kind in their treatment. He didn't understand that. Legolas and Elladan wouldn't have been treated very well had he succeeded in bringing them to Gondor, so why would they treat him well? What ever the case, Boromir didn't like the thought that Aragorn wanted the forest gone, even if their people needed the land. The thought of a war was never appealing, but one with these Elves was even less so. It seemed that nearly all of the forest's inhabitants were warrior, or at least hunters. They would all take their parts in a war, including Legolas. An image of the golden Elf passed through Boromir's mind, covered in blood from the battles and succumbing to Aragorn's blade. The Man shuddered. If there was a war, Aragorn would use superior numbers to overwhelm whatever skills the Elves possessed. Perhaps if he could speak with the Elven leaders, tell them of Gondor, warn them of Aragorn, then perhaps he would be able to be welcomed as a guest. Learn of them, from them. Speak with Legolas and maybe get closer to the Elf. It was worth a try. ********* Thranduil shook his head as he watched three of his sons play their games with the others that were supposed to be working. Nimelen and Feinereg were open with their playful attitudes, but Rhiernil was somewhat more reserved, joining in with his own subtle sense of humour and sharp wit. His eldest was always watching out for his younger brothers, protective of them regardless of how well they did in their training. Legolas was the proof of that, he was a strong warrior, but innocent. He had noticed the friendship between Nimelen and Elrohir progressing much the same as Legolas and Elladan's had. There was no way he could mind another of his sons with Elrond's. The elder Elven-lord had been his friend for so long that he trusted the entire family. He knew the passion the twins had, how they protected what they cared for fiercely. "You seem troubled." Thranduil turned to see Elrond coming towards him. He nodded in greeting before turning back to the Elves working. "I am," he answered after a few seconds. "I'm giving Elladan my youngest Elrond. Legolas is very dear to me." "He is dear to us all my friend. But I sense there is more than just Legolas on your mind." "Legolas is my greatest concern. But you are right as always." Elrond smiled, "And you avoid the question." Thranduil chuckled, "It seems my two youngest have fallen under the spells of your sons. Nimelen and Elrohir act as Legolas and Elladan once did." "I've noticed it too. I see no harm in it though." Thranduil raised an eyebrow, "You aren't worried about the lack of grandchildren?" Elrond chuckled, "There are ways around that. Charms and potions to aid our sons. Though Arwen has left for the west with her mother, I'm certain she has found many a suitor. What about you?" "Rhiernil's wife is expecting. Seclya will birth by next month it seems." "You're worried?" "As always." The two watched the activities of the final preparations in silence for a few minutes before Thranduil broke the quiet, "What of the Man?" "Treated well. Celeborn will speak with him before the feast." Thranduil sighed, "It truely seems not to be in our nature to harm does it? Our sons seem to have forgiven him, and I cannot bring myself to petition for his punishment." Elrond nodded, "There was no harm done. He will be watched, but treated as a guest in time." "Perhaps we should prepare ourselves for the celebrations?" Elrond smiled and nodded, "Duties call." ********* Legolas stirred slightly as he felt a light touch on his cheek. When his sapphire eyes opened, they found a pair of grey ones looking back at him. He smiled and leaned forward to kiss Elladan. The elder Elf's hand found it's way to the nape of Legolas' neck to deepen the kiss. Both were panting by the time it ended. "Think we should start getting ready?" Legolas sighed, "Yes. Though I wish we could stay like this." Elladan chuckled and kissed Legolas' nose before sitting up, "We'll have eternity soon enough." Legolas got up and made for the door, "I'll see you at the feast." ************* ~~**~~Road to the Forest~~**~~ Though they were making better time than the original group, Gandalf was pleased that they wouldn't arrive at the forest's edge until after the Autumn Festival. Aragorn rode next to him on his own steed, a third horse tethered to his that carried the equipment and for Boromir once he was rescued. Night was starting to fall and Aragorn stopped reluctantly. Their camp and dinner was prepared in silence. "So what do you know of these Elves?" Aragorn asked when he couldn't stand the silence anymore. Ganndalf chose his words carefully, "They will not harm Boromir if that's what you're asking. Many of them are warriors, but only for the purpose of security and hunting." Aragorn mulled this over without comment. ************ ~~**~~Forest, Elven City~~**~~ The feast was laid out across several long tables. Various Elves rushed to finish the small details in their work while everyone else finished getting ready. Haldir had come to check on Legolas once in the last hour before he was expected at the main table. Elladan paced his room, impatient for things to start. Elrohir was sitting on his brother's bed, watching the elder twin go from one end of the room to the other. Boromir watched the last preparations from his window until the door was opened almost silently. The noble Elf that had introduced himself as Celeborn earlier entered. Unsure of what to do or of Elven etiquitte, Boromir bowed to him as he would his own king. Celeborn tilted his head to one side, watching the Man curiously, "Please, you needn't be formal. I wish to talk." "Of course," Boromir hesitated. "I think I may need to warn you." "Of what?" "My king. A noble Man by the name of Aragorn." Celeborn nodded, "The one that sent you." "Yes. If he's heard of my...capture, it's more than likely he will send a group to retrieve me, if not coming himself. He is a strong warrior. I think you should take precautions." "Why this warning?" Boromir looked down, "I-I don't want to see any of your people hurt." Celeborn raised a skeptical eyebrow, "But you think it's fine to kidnap two of younglings?" "No!" Boromir shook his head. "I don't have an excuse for what I did, but I am sorry for it." Celeborn waved a dismissive hand, "Think nothing of it. They've forgiven you, as have their families. You're in no danger. If you wish, you may come to the feast tonight, but you will be under careful watch." Boromir nodded, "I'd be honoured." "Good," Celeborn took a seat by the small table and motioned for Boromir to do the same. "Now, tell me about your King and home." ******** Elladan and Elrohir practically ran to the feast. Trying to look respectable as they did. Thranduil and his sons were already at their places, all dressed in similar green robes. The twins took their places, Elladan next to Legolas and Elrohir next to his father. Nothing was said as the Man was led to the table by Glorfindel and Haldir. Sitting between the two guardians. All formalities were done with quickly and the feast began. Midnight was getting closer and Elladan sensed Legolas' nervousness. He gently took Legolas' hand in his own and tried to reassure him. Legolas smiled gratefully. The actual festivities had started and the Elves began their games, songs, and whatever else had been planned. Boromir watched in fascination as the celebrations went on around him. He was left alone most of the time and could have just walked away, but the thought of seeing this festival which few, if any, other mortals could have possibly seen. Legolas caught sight of the Man while Elladan spoke with Haldir. He crossed the short distance to rouse Boromir from his musings. "What are you thinking of?" Boromir jumped at the sound of the Elf's voice at his side. Upon seeing Legolas looking at him curiously he smiled. "I was in fascination of your people." Legolas smiled, "I can see how you would wonder about us. Maybe I can ease your curiosity? I have time." If possible, Boromir's smile widened, "I would love to speak with you." Legolas grinned and took a seat next to the Man, "Ask away." Boromir thought for a few seconds, "What of your traditions?" "Traditions?" "Yes, your customs. Like this festival, what's it for? What of your people's lives? Are there any traditions you follow? What of marriages?" Legolas blinked at the barrage of questions, "The festival is celebrating the beginning of winter and the end of autumn. There aren't many traditions really. Only that there is festival each season." "What about marriages?" "It's usually a bonding between two consenting adults," Legolas smiled. "The parents of the couple are usually the ones to organize the ceremony." Boromir raised an eyebrow, "Are you...bonded yet?" Legolas blushed, "Not yet." Boromir smiled, feeling his heart lift at the prospect that the beautiful being before him wasn't spoken for yet. "But, I'll be bonded tonight." The feeling dropped. Boromir swallowed, "May I ask to whom?" Legolas smiled shyly as he realized where the conversation had gone, but answered anyway, "To Elladan." Boromir had already guessed as much. He saw Legolas turn as something caught his eye. Elladan stood at the enterance of a path, just watching them talk. Legolas smiled and stood. "It was nice talking with you." Boromir nodded and watched the blonde Elf follow Elladan down the path. ******* Elladan wrapped an arm around Legolas' waist, "Lle desiel a'maelamin?" Legolas nodded, "Yes, I think I'm ready." Elladan stopped and pulled the younger Elf close, "Don't worry, everything will be fine." He placed a quick kiss on Legolas' lips before continuing on the path. The small clearing was lit by small glowing crystals that hung from the small saplings that lined the edge of the clearing. There was a small waterfall that ended in a stream that curved off into the forest. The moonlight that found it's way through the cover of leaves glinted off of the water. Elrond stood with Elrohir and Glorfindel on the left side of the clearing while Thranduil and Legolas' brothers were on the right. Galadriel stood with Celeborn directly in front of the little pool and waterfall, looking completely ethereal in their shimmering robes. Legolas and Elladan took their places and kept their hands clasped together. Celeborn smiled softly, "Are you two ready?" Both nodded and lifted their right hands. Celeborn drapped a thin red ribbon over their hands and began the ceremony. "As this ribbon binds you physically, your spirits will be bound by your love. The red symbolizes your life blood and therefore your hearts. The tightly bound threads, the ties of your fates." He withdrew two mithril bracelets and placed one in each left hand of the two before him. Both Elrond and Thranduil came up to take their parts. They lifted the ribbon as one, placed a kiss on their son's brow and placed the ribbon at their feet before going back to their former positions. Celeborn looked to the two young ones to continue. They nodded simultaniously. Celeborn took a deep breath, "The pure silver of your bands is the purity of your trust and love. The material cannot be broken, and neither shall your bond. Wear them and be bound, heart, soul, and body." Elladan took the band he held and unclasped the small latch he secured it around Legolas' wrist, "I vow to protect you for eternity, and love you for twice as long." Legolas smiled and secured the band he held on Elladan's wrist, "I vow to remain by your side in your hunts and battles, protecting you for eternity, and loving you for twice as long." The two shared a deep kiss to finish the ceremony. When they broke away, the others were smiling. They congratulated them as they left the clearing. Elrohir clasped his brother on the shoulder, "Quel marth*." Elladan smiled and turned back to Legolas. Two blankets and a small bundle of supplies had been placed at the edge of the clearing and the newly-bound couple spread one blanket over the ground. Elladan gathered Legolas into his arms, he smoothed the golden hair away from Legolas' face. "Melamin." Legolas smiled and kissed Elladan again. Elladan ventured his tongue out to lick Legolas' bottom lip in askance. Legolas welcomed him in and they tasted each other for seemingly the first time. Elladan teased Legolas into playing a mock battle for dominance. They were lying on the blanket before the kiss broke. Elladan divested Legolas of his robe while the younger Elf did the same. Legolas shivered under the cool night air and Elladan's hands on his skin. He reached up and pulled his lover closer, kissing his neck while the other mapped his chest. Legolas moaned as Elladan moved one hand down to his rapidly hardening shaft. He could feel Elladan's own hardness and started to become nervous, he had never done anything like this before. Elladan kissed the sensitive tip of Legolas' ear before whispering, "I won't hurt you. I swear it my beautiful one." The dark-haired Elf reached over into the small bundle and pulled out a small flask of liquid. Noticing the curiosity in Legolas' eyes, he smiled and poured some of it on his hand. "It will help," Elladan slid a slickened finger inside Legolas' virgin opening. "Relax. It will hurt at first, but you'll feel better." He felt Legolas' vice grip on his shoulders ease and continued to work on stretching the tight opening. He began to nuzzle and kiss the writhing blonde beneath him to distract from the second finger he slipped in. "Ai! Elladan..." Legolas' moan told him that he had found what he wanted and added a third finger, hitting the same spot and judging his lover's reactions. He finally withdrew and kissed away Legolas' disappointed look. "Relax," he whispered as he sheathed himself slowly, taking care not to harm Legolas. They moved slowly, establishing a rhythm. Legolas met Elladan's thrusts easily and cried out as the other took his erection into one hand, pumping in time with their movements. Both were finally overcome with pleasure, Elladan with Legolas' tightness and Legolas with Elladan's skill. Elladan gathered the younger Elf into his arms after collapsing, he fished through the bundle again to find a small towel and reminded himself to thank Elrohir later. He cleaned them off and smiled while Legolas recovered his breath. "Are you alright?" Elladan asked softly. Legolas smiled, "That was...nice." Elladan chuckled, "Only 'nice?'" Legolas grinned and kissed his bonded deeply. He shivered as the heat from their passion slowly left and Elladan covered them with the second blanket. He kissed Legolas again before settling down, "I love you." Legolas smiled and cuddled closer to Elladan's warmth, "I love you too." *********************************************************** *********** Legolas woke to the sounds of early morning and smiled. He looked over at the still sleeping Elladan. The dark-haired Elf was smiling in his sleep, with one arm around Legolas possessively. The blonde pushed a strand of dark hair from Elladan's face before settling back. "How're you feeling?" Elladan muttered without opening his eyes. "A little sore." The other chuckled and sat up yawning. He pulled Legolas up with him and kissed his newly bound love. "Should we stay here?" Elladan asked with an evil smile, pulling Legolas onto his lap. Legolas rested his head on Elladan's shoulder. "As much as I'd like to," Legolas kissed Elladan's jaw; "I think we should go get breakfast." Elladan sighed, "Alright." Legolas smiled, "Elladan, you need to let me go." "Don't want to," Elladan muttered. He smiled as he felt Legolas relax against him and loosened his grip a bit. Legolas took advantage of it and got out of the embrace. He chuckled and kissed Elladan's pout away. Retrieving their crumpled robes, they dressed and cleaned up. Elladan straightened his clothing and watched as Legolas splashed some of the nearby water on his face to help him wake up. Everything was stuffed into the small bundle, the blankets rolled up, and Elladan swung an arm around Legolas' waist as they left the clearing. Only a few others were awake at the time and the two made their way to what had been their rooms. Legolas grabbed a shirt, tunic, and leggings from his room while Elladan just took another casual robe and leggings from his. Elladan shook his head as he looked Legolas over. "You wear too much clothing Legolas." Legolas smiled, "I have some modesty Elladan." Elladan mocked a pout, "Too bad." Legolas laughed and they went off to find who else was awake. Haldir and Glorfindel were sparring on the training field before they had to go out with the dawn patrol. "How's the happy couple?" Glorfindel asked as he blocked one of Haldir's sword thrusts. Legolas smiled, "Just fine Glorfy." Haldir snorted and raised an eyebrow at Glorfindel, "Glorfy? That's a new one." Glorfindel growled and stabbed at Haldir, "Don't encourage him." Legolas tried to look innocent while Haldir disarmed Glorfindel. Elladan smiled and nodded his approval in the move. Haldir gave his sparring partner one of his "you- just-know-I'm-better-than-you" smirks. "Is anyone else awake?" Elladan asked when Haldir stopped gloating, having been effectively silenced by a swat from Glorfindel. Glorfindel shrugged, "I don't think so. They may be now." Haldir picked up his bow, "Care for some practice Legolas?" Legolas grinned, "Always Haldir." The blonde gave Elladan a quick kiss before following Haldir to the archery tagets. Glorfindel and Elladan left the two to their practice and went to go get something to eat. Elladan had promised to bring something back for Legolas if he didn't join them. Elrohir was sitting with Nimelen at one of the tables by the kitchens. They both looked up and smiled. Elladan sat and helped himself to the fruit on his brother's plate. Elrohir looked at his brother, "You could ask you know." Elladan smiled, "Now why would I do that?" Nimelen grinned and followed Elladan's example. Elrohir shook his head and pushed his plate away in resignation. Nimelen glanced up at his new brother-in-law. "How's Legolas?" Elladan smiled, "Fine. He's with Haldir on the training field." "How did everything go last night?" Elrohir asked grinning. "As planned." Glorfindel shook his head, "Is your father awake yet Elrohir?" Elrohir nodded, "He's talking with Thranduil, Celeborn, and Galadriel." The elder Elf stood, "Could you tell him that I wish to speak with him after patrol?" Elrohir nodded and Glorfindel left the group to their antics. Elladan looked at his brother and friend, "So what exactly is between you two anyway?" ******* "If possible," Haldir said as he looked over Legolas' shot; "you've gotten better." Legolas smiled, "Only under your tutelage my friend." Haldir smiled, "You were a great pupil. A pity your father preferred that you didn't join the patrols." Legolas nodded, "What of the Man?" Haldir shrugged, "I don't know what's planned. Celeborn is still angry, undoubtedly you father is too, but it isn't our way to harm another unless in battle." "I know." Haldir smiled at the younger Elf, "How do you feel now that you're bonded?" Legolas shrugged, "No different really. Elladan is very nice." Haldir smirked, "Did you enjoy youreslf?" Legolas blushed, "I'm not telling you." The elder Elf laughed and took his shot. ************************* ~~*~~Forest Border~~*~~ Gandalf looked over the sleeping King of Gondor.
