Here, the uninspired writer can find story ideas, requests, and challenges handed down from other Lord of the Rings slash fans. This page has been subdivided due to the sheer number of plotbunnies and challenges available, in order to make what you are looking for that little bit easier.
Feel free to submit or claim anything you please - it doesn't matter if someone else has already claimed it - though it would be useful if you noted the following:
- The email address for submissions is libraryofmoriarps@gmail.com. Please make sure that you include "Plotbunny" or "Challenge" or something similar in the email header, because we get so much rubbish in that account that anything else will just be deleted.
-If you are claiming a challenge or plotbunny, it would be useful if you could copy and paste it into the email and also let me know where you found it. It just makes it that much quicker to find them and change the status.
Plot Bunnies
Almost everyone, whether they write fanfiction or are just a reader, knows what it’s like to want to see something particular happen between characters or to have a story idea that longs to be written... by somebody else. These insidious ideas and desires, ranging from normal to quite bizarre, are known as plot bunnies, and they can be stubborn, muse-killing little devils. Sure, they may look cute and fluffy, and sometimes plot bunnies do help an author get a good story written, but they can easily become too persistent, plaguing the author's slash-writing thoughts and refusing to let any other stories be written until the bunny is satisfied.
This page has been designed as an 'adoption center' for these nagging plot bunnies, where people can donate in hopes that their ideas may be used by someone else. If a plot bunny's status is 'unclaimed,' no one is working on a story based on that particular idea. When it's marked as 'claimed,' it simply means that someone is working on it, but that doesn't mean no one else can claim it too. More fanfiction is always better than less fanfiction, and two different variations on a plot bunny can be great!
To donate one of your own plot bunnies (or if you have any questions), simply email us to let us know. And if one of these plot bunnies calls to you and you decide to write it, let us know which one so we can update its status!
Challenges/Requests
Challenges are less like plot bunnies, more like evil, sadistic ways to get people to write strange things that you’d like to see... or at least see if they can be done. They range from the bizarre to the mundane, the easy to the impossible. One might be asking for the explanation of the term 'hobbithood,' while another is a fic perverting the otherwise-clean quote from the movie, "You will taste man-flesh." Though, don’t get me wrong, they don’t have to be quite so vague and they don’t need to aim towards an NC17 rating. Requests are basically pleas for specific pairings... yup, that’s it! As with the plot bunny adoptions, 'claimed' means someone is working on it, 'unclaimed' means it’s... well, not being worked on.
