Beta read by the gloriously lovely, Claireyfairy1 ~~*~~ American Woman, stay away from me American Woman, mama let me be Don't come a hangin' around my door I don't wanna see your face no more I got more important things to do Than spend my time growin' old with you ~American Woman, The Guess Who ~~*~~ Part 1 The door slammed with such force that it shook the entire house and caused Viggo's hand to slip. A streak of sea-green struck the canvas and broke his concentration. Sighing, he grabbed the bottle next to the easel and squirted a small amount of water onto the canvas, removing the streak before it could set and ruin the painting. Viggo turned from his unfinished work and made his way downstairs in search of his door-slamming lover. They were on a rare break from their various commitments, but Orlando had been guilted into a breakfast meeting with Robin. Viggo had urged him to go, stating that he had work to do anyway. He didn't really; have much work to do, but he knew how Orlando was. He knew how willing the younger man would be to simply toss his career aside and focus the rest of his life on Viggo. As much as the American would love that, he also knew that one day, no matter how much he denied the inevitability, Orlando would resent him. Viggo found Orlando on the deck. He sat, balanced on the wooden railing, staring at the small lake that graced the property. His hands twisted the engraved gold band on his right ring finger. Viggo's bare feet padded against the planks of the deck, alerting Orlando to his lover's presence. He didn't startle when Viggo slipped his arms around him from behind. Orlando leaned back into the embrace, letting his head fall against Viggo's shoulder. Viggo held him, content to wait until Orli was ready to talk. He stroked his fingers over Orlando's arms, enjoying the varying textures as worn, yellow cotton gave way to soft, olive skin. He pressed a kiss into windswept curls and felt the body in his arms tremble. "She wants me to get married," Orlando said at long last, his voice wavering slightly. Viggo involuntarily tightened his hold on the younger man and drew in a surprised breath. "Why?" Viggo asked. "Why now? We haven't been seen in public together for months. Fuck, we haven't even been in the same damn country for more than a few days since December!" Orli chuckled bitterly and wrapped his arms around the ones holding him. "It's not about me this time," he said quietly. He gently pried Viggo's arms off and turned, swinging his legs over the railing and spreading them apart. Viggo stepped between them and rested his hands on his young lover's hips. Orlando captured a fold of Viggo's t-shirt and rolled the material between his fingers. "Kate's last movie didn't do very well-" "That's an understatement," Viggo muttered, causing a small smile to curve Orli's lips. "And Robin's afraid this new one's not going to do much for her either. Most of the focus is going to be on Kevin starring and directing." Viggo nodded a little. "Well, the focus should be on him. He's a damn good director." "You would know," Orlando murmured. He pulled Viggo a little closer and leaned his head against the older man's chest. Viggo felt his cheeks flush warmly with the knowledge that Orlando knew so much about his past films. "What does Kate think about all this?" "Oh, that's the best part," Orli said angrily, sitting up straight again. "It was her idea!" Viggo blinked at him. "What?" Orlando pushed his lover back and leapt off the railing. He paced the deck restlessly. "Vig-", he began. Pausing, he ran a hand through his hair and looked up at the puzzled American. "I think this stopped being a cover to Kate quite a while ago." "Explain that." "She's gotten a bit... clingy over the past few months," Orli stated, his eyes flashing. "She calls me constantly when I'm on location, she's been discussing our "relationship" quite openly with the media, and-" He stopped again and looked over at Viggo almost fearfully. The older man simply raised his eyebrows and so Orlando continued. "Last month, when I was in Paris, she flew in and spent the weekend with me... said she thought it would be a nice surprise. 'Course I don't think she appreciated that I made her get her own hotel room." Viggo smiled at that, and Orlando felt some of the tension drain from his body. "Why didn't you tell me this was happening?" Viggo asked. "I didn't want to worry you," Orli shrugged. Shaking his head slightly, Viggo closed the distance between them and took Orli's face in his hands. "Everything that effects you, effects me, Orlando," he said in a softly stern voice. "Please, don't shut me out." Orlando nodded at him before pressing a quick kiss to his lips. Viggo sighed and laid his forehead gently against his lover's. "So, what do you think we should do?" Viggo closed his eyes and waited for the answer. Orlando, though an idealist with a romantic's heart, was usually realistic after talking his options over with Viggo. They'd get through this, just like they'd gotten though everything else. "I said no." Viggo's eyes shot open and met Orlando's. "You - you already decided?" Orlando nodded. "I can't marry her, Vig. I don't really even like her all that much." The older man stared at his lover, whose expression was suddenly one of quiet jubilation. "But... Orli..." he paused for a moment and gathered his thoughts. "So, is there going to be an arranged break-up now or something?" Orlando shrugged at him. "I don't know and I don't care. Let Kate and Robin worry about that. Although..." "Although, what?" "I don't think a break-up is exactly what Kate has in mind right now." Viggo just looked at him, waiting. Orli was suddenly rather interested in his fingernails. "She threatened to out me if I didn't go through with it," he said conversationally. "SHE WHAT!?!" Viggo roared. "You need to relax before you give yourself a heart attack, old man." "Orli, baby, look... I understand that you don't like hiding our relationship, believe me, I don't like it either. But, don't you think this is a little risky? I mean, your career-" "Is no longer an issue," Orlando cut in. Viggo sighed at him in frustration. The younger man gave him a reassuring smile and continued. "Troy was number one at the box office for seven weeks. Haven is being released next month complete with my first producer credit. I have two movies in post-production, I'm filming one, and I have five scripts sitting on the desk in your studio." Understanding, followed by a beautiful smile, spread across Viggo's face. "Kate needs you, but..." "I don't need her," Orlando finished. "Robin was so busy pleading Kate's case, that she didn't even realize what she was really telling me. I've managed to establish myself as an actor," he said proudly. "People want *me* now, Vig, not just the pretty boy with the good hair and fortunate cheekbones. They want *me*." "I'm proud of you, Orli," Viggo said, pressing a gentle kiss to his young lover's forehead. "But it's still going to hurt your career if she outs you. Hollywood can be surprisingly close-minded." "It might slow me down a little," Orlando shrugged. "And Disney certainly won't be happy, but it's not going to break me anymore, Vig." Uncharacteristically speechless, Viggo enveloped Orlando in a tight embrace. He leaned forward and captured the younger man's lips, forcing his tongue into Orli's mouth. Orlando kissed him back with equal fervor, sliding his hands down Viggo's back and over his ass. He squeezed the globes of muscle and thrust his hips forward causing his growing erection to rub against his lover's. He broke the kiss only when the lack of oxygen caused stars to swim in his vision. "I want you," Orlando whispered against the older man's mouth. "Then take me," Viggo whispered back, running his tongue over Orli's bottom lip. "Fuck," Orli whimpered. He grabbed Viggo's hand and pulled him into the house. "Bedroom," he panted. "I'm not going to make it that far," the artist rasped. "I need your cock in me now." He pulled Orli back and reached down to cup him through his jeans. "Fuck me," he said, squeezing the younger man's rock hard arousal. His eyes black with desire, Orlando pushed Viggo back onto the couch and took off the American's jeans and boxers. He watched as his lover pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it away. Viggo was completely on display for him. Orlando smiled and began slowly removing his clothes. Breathy moans escaped his lips when Viggo began to touch himself, stroking his cock as he watched Orlando strip for him. Finally, gloriously naked, Orlando opened the drawer of the end table and rummaged around until his hand found their emergency lube. He squirted some of the cool gel onto his fingers and reached between Viggo's legs, but a hand grabbed his before he could go any further. He looked up to see Viggo shaking his head. "Just put it in me," the older man whispered. "I can't wait anymore." Nodding a little, Orlando spread the lube onto his cock with shaking hands. He knelt on the couch between his lover's thighs and positioned himself at the tight entrance. "I love you," he whispered and slammed his cock inside. Screaming with unabashed pleasure, Viggo arched up off the couch and pushed his hips down, forcing Orlando even deeper inside him. Together they set a brutal rhythm. Sweat slicked skin slapped together, mouths crushed against each other, swallowing their combined moans. Viggo's cock slid against Orlando's stomach with each thrust until the younger man finally reached down and grasped the overheated flesh with fingers still slippery with lube. Orlando jerked his lover's cock hard while he fucked him. "Open your eyes, Vig," he moaned as he felt his own climax nearing. Viggo opened his eyes. The depth of love and trust in the blue orbs was Orlando's undoing. He cried out his lover's name as he released his seed deep inside him. At almost the same instant, he felt Viggo's cock erupt in his hand. Orlando collapsed against his sated lover, aftershocks rippling through his body. He breathing was ragged and loud enough that he almost missed the soft words that issued from the older man's mouth. "Marry *me*." ~~*~~ Part 2 Orlando's head shot up and he stared at Viggo, shock etched into every feature of his beautiful face. "What?" he managed to ask. "Marry me," Viggo said again. He sat up a little, causing Orli's cock to slip from his body. Sliding out from under his young lover he knelt on the floor and took Orlando's hands in his. "Viggo," Orli whispered. His heart was pounding in his chest. "We're naked," he said dumbly, "and sticky, and you're-" "Asking you to marry me," the older man murmured. There was a hint of amusement in his expression, but he'd never spoken more serious words in his life. He took a deep breath and looked into Orlando's wide brown eyes. "I knew the first moment I saw you that you were special. I knew then that you were going to be the brightest star that the world had ever seen. I found the other half of my heart the day you told me you loved me. My soul felt complete the first time we made love..." Orlando slid to the floor, his breathing quick. Kneeling beside his lover, he pressed their bodies together and closed his eyes. "Your touch sets my skin on fire," Viggo continued. He guided one of Orlando's hands down his body to cover his renewed erection. Orli moaned a little and began slowly stroking the heated flesh. "No one else has ever made me feel the way you do, and I've never loved anyone the way I love you." Viggo cupped his lover's cheek and the younger man opened his eyes. The tears Orli had been trying to keep at bay began rolling freely down his cheeks. Viggo gently kissed them away as he lowered Orlando to the floor and covered him with his body. "Make me feel this way for the rest of my life," Viggo said against his young lover's mouth. He slid his cock inside the waiting, plaint body. "Marry me," he said again as he began to thrust in and out, causing the Brit to gasp and arch off the floor. He reached down and began stroking Orli's dripping erection. Viggo felt his own orgasm nearing and wanted the younger man to come when he did. He squeezed and jerked at the sensitive flesh until Orlando was writhing helplessly beneath him. "Marry me," he repeated one last time before coming hard, deep inside Orli's body. Orlando came, Viggo's name spilling from his lips as his semen spilled over the older man's hand. He reached up and blindly pulled his lover down for a kiss, holding him tightly. "I love you," he gasped when he could speak again. Viggo chuckled silently and pulled them up to recline in a sticky, sweaty heap on the couch. "Is that a yes?" he asked breathlessly. "Fuck yes." Orlando laughed. "Just name the day." "September fourth," Viggo said without hesitation. Orlando raised his eyebrows. "Is that...?" "The anniversary of the day we met." "Five years to the day," Orlando mused. He regarded his lover for a moment. "New Zealand?" he asked. Viggo nodded. "Where else?" "The guys are going to be surprised." "I'm sure. Everyone except Ian," Viggo said with a smile. "He told me once that the first time he saw us together he knew we'd be together for the rest of our lives." "He's an insightful one, our beloved Wizard." He paused for a moment and looked into Viggo's eyes for any trace of apprehension. He found none. ~~ September 4, 2004 Kate, as it turned out, had not told the world that her supposed boyfriend was gay. Viggo and Orlando had done that quiet well when they'd arrived together at the premiere for Haven. They were open and affectionate and by the end of the night, all of Hollywood knew the story of the love between the Prince of the Elves and the King of Men. All that was left was the actual wedding, Viggo had joked when news of their romance had surfaced on every news channel imaginable. The ceremony took place in the woods where the Fellowship had camped the night before the sunrise shoot. There were no cameras, save the ones their friends had brought, no story-sniffing reporters, and no inquisitive outsiders. Viggo and Orlando walked down the leaf-laden aisle arm in arm under the tearful gazes of their family and closest friends. When they reached the end of the aisle, they joined hands and looked expectantly at Peter, who, since he was responsible for them finding each other, had agreed to marry them. After welcoming everyone to the event, Peter announced that certain members of the assembly had written small speeches expressing their love for the couple. Viggo and Orli clutched at each other, trying not to let emotion overwhelm them as one by one their friends stood and told them how much they were loved, and how perfect it was for them to love each other. At long last it was time for them to read their vows. They spoke the words they'd written for each other, hands and hearts entwined. When Peter prompted him, Viggo slipped the now famous ring from Orli's right hand and on to his left. "This says, 'to wherever it may lead'," Viggo said softly. Orlando smiled and took Viggo's ring from Elijah. He looked into his lover's eyes, slid the ring onto Viggo's finger and recited the inscription laid into the gold band. "And it led me to you." END.
