This is so painful and heartbreaking...
I liked the fact that you wrote it as a dialogue; it makes the story much more lively.
Loved the cruel portrayal of Mandos as well, and his last words. It makes me shudder. Good work!

The Emissary by JDE

Rated: Mature Audience [Reviews - 4] starstarstarstarstar
Summary: Finrod is elected as the emissary of the Noldor to Doriath. He hates caves, he hates the Sindar and he hates his task. Everything goes disastrously wrong from the very first day of his stay in Doriath. Things are further complicated by a cryptic Maia, a naive King and a jealous lover. Add a stubborn sister, a Noldor-hating wooer of the said sister and a dozen or so cousins to this mix, Finrod is reasonably sure that he wouldn’t mind morphing into an orc.

This story was amazing, both funny at times, and then also sad towards the end. The dialogues were so sharp and lively, loved them. And the portrayals of the characters, so conflicted and deep... Finwe's family really has issues, doesn't it? Loved the sarcasm of Finrod, as well.
Though I was quite confused by the Quenya names, since I'm not familiar with them. But in any case, this is a fantastic story, and one with the best dialogues and writing I've read in a long time.
